When you contemplate God, what image is created in your mind's eye? Are you looking inside yourself or outside? What do you see?

One . . . an interesting answer. Should we strive to envision nothing when we attempt to contemplate God, then? That's very Zen of you.

Daniel 7:9 "I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire.

7:10 A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.

7:13 I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.

7:14 And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.

The Question You Ask Is Interesting As It COULD Fall Under The Term 'Idolatry' As You Are 'Making A God For Yourself In The Image Of Your Imagination'. You Really Shouldn't Need To Visualize Anyone/Thing. As God Is Not Supposed To Look Like Anything In Heaven Or Earth.

I Don't TRY To Visualize Anything. I Simply Search My Self Inwardly For Any 'Insight' Or Guidance He My Be Trying to Provide, I Realize This May Seem Somewhat 'Self-Centered' But..........

I see in my mind's eye, the Blessed Trinity(Father, Son, & Holy Spirit), Surrounded By all His Saints(ie, the Virgin Mary, St. John the Baptist, etc), & angels in Heaven.

I'm not gonna lie...I picture the cliches, i.e. the Zeus-like man or the warm white light.

I'm still trying to develop my own interpretation and figure out exactly what my beliefs are.

He is not the Christian, Muslim, or Jewish god.

My god shows me the secrets of the universe

He does not demand that i say prayers

He does not say i have to tithe

He does not pretend to have died for my sins so that i would feel beholden to him.

when i need a favor, he will give it or not give it instead of working in strange ways.

He is understanding about my faults.

etc..

I don't.
I seek His presence and His will daily now. I easily accept what He has shared with me but "leave the door open" for the rest of His to show me.
