Do your beliefs require a God who (that) is separate from you?

Would a truly omnipresent God fit in with your understanding of things, or would you have to reject that idea? Why?

God dwells within me. Not a separate part of me.

If you believe in God you should be with God, not separated from Him.

Actually it's kind of reversed. God requires my belief; my belief doesn't require God.
