i am a christian and it scares me that there r socially good ppl going to hell just becuz they did not giv there life to jesus. if jesus was (and is) alive and u lived as a "sinner" u hav lost everything! but if u lived ur life as "holy" then u have 1 every thing BUT if was non-existent and u lived ur lyf as either u hav nether lost or gained anything. so there it is better to hav loved then lost and went to hell

I've been seeing this wonderful guy for over 12 months. Our problem is that he is an LDS, and I am not. While I love him dearly, I can't see how things could work out in future for us. Although I respect his beliefs, and go to Church occasionally with him, I'm not ready to take them on myself. I'm also not willing to raise my children with those beliefs. He's suggested moving in together, and giving up his church, but in his heart, I'm not sure if that's what he really wants to do. I'd love any advice or thoughts. The whole situation really hurts.

Or do you act like ancient beleivers had today's knowledge at hand.....??

Here is what I have read, and it makes sense I will point out which point I feel is 100% true. Oh yea I do not believe in predestination.

There is a very popular long-time theory in religious circles which holds salvation to be a matter of presdestination. That is, you are saved because God predestinated you to be saved. The logical (and often-stated) corollary is: "If some are predestinated to Heaven, the rest are predestinated to Hell." This teaching, which began with Augustine (354-430 A.D.) and was systematized by the Protestant reformer John Calvin (1509-1564 A.D.), is usually called "Calvinism." It affirms that we have no choice in the matter of salvation; it was all settled long before the world was created.

No the point that I find to set it in stone is "If some are predestinated to Heaven, the rest are predestinated to Hell." That right there is saying that God condemns people to hell which is not true. It is our choice that takes us there, because you did not want to..

The discovery of the book of judas?

The inclination that he and Jesus were best friends and that
Judas was the only one Jesus truly trusted to follow through with his plan; so he could die for your sins?

Also; what of the idea that he and Judas may have been more than mere friends; and that they might have been lovers?

It's a common thing for me to receive answers that have nothing to do with what I asked, even when I formulate the question in the best way possible. Does that happen to you as well?

Do you have an example of question you've asked, and answer received that didn't fit the question?

It really make me wonder why many Evangelical churches emphasize much about abundance life on this church rather spending time on emphasizing the importance of eternal life, that life on this earth is so temporal.

Whats the use of leading an abundance life of happiness on this earth with material accomplishment if one to lose his soul in the eternal lake of fire?

I was thinking about this last night; if God really is all-powerful, surely the concept of goodness and holiness in mankind (regardless of religious denomination) is more important than squabbling over the particulars of the varying interpretations of the core message of gentleness that all faith groups share?

Now I know I'll get Christians saying, 'but God says to worship him our way, it says so in the bible,', and the Muslims will say, 'but God says to worship him our way, it says so in the Koran,', but doesn't this just add gravity to my argument?

I am not trying to be offensive as I respect everyone's beliefs, and I am not the sharpest tool in the box either, but do I not have a point?

Thanks for all open-minded and polite answers.
