I remember when I was 20 and I had that same kind of emptiness. Unfortunately I drowned it by drinking and drugging and it was a good ten years later until I realized what I was missing....spirituality.
Now I'm not going to tell you that my faith is the only one that will heal you (like certain others will...cough cough) but I will suggest you research and keep an open mind to various religions, or just spirituality. Also, giving some of that money that you'd only spend on yet another cell phone or I-pod could go towards helping a disadvantaged person or animal and I am positive that would make you feel a little better knowing you helped :)
Good luck and Namaste.

You need to put some focus on other things aside from shopping and aquiring material things. You are out of balance and don't have enough things in your life that are engaging and meaningful. Think about volunteering for a project or cause you care about. The United Way website has listings all over the U.S. if that is where you are from for local communities looking for volunteers. I found opportunities to help organize a holiday party for disabled children, help collect food donations, and teach illiterate adults to read. All these experiences enriched my life as much or more than the people I was volunteering to help. If volunteerism doesn't appeal then consider a meaningful hobby. I SCUBA Dive, garden, and enjoying cooking feasts and having people come over. Each activity helps me connect to the world, others, and appreciate the moments of life rather than focus on what I want to do next or buy next. Meditation helps me a lot here to learn to love each moment rather than obsess about what I need materially or need to do in life next. Physical exercise and activities that really pull you out of yourself are great too. Run, hike, swim. You have just not filled your life with enough variety, meaning, and purpose.

I had a weird empty lonely feeling a while back, it felt like some part of me (maybe my soul?) just froze. I can't explain it but I felt empty too. I think we need to start believing and have a little faith its made me feel better, or am I lying to myself?? No one really knows the answer, life is a journey, light or dark at the end of the tunnel?? Stop and look around at the wonderful creations in the world, animals, trees etc.

Try doing something that enlightens your mind. Buy a telescope and view the glorious heavens. Buy a kayak and take it to a local lake or river and spend the day enjoying the scenery. Take a cooking class. Go to a book store and read some books on history. Take a class at the local community college on a subject that interests you. Join a group, of people with like interests....but whatever you do, stay away from organized religion!

Hey,

The first thing, if you feel like dying, or suicide, please seek help.

You feel so empty inside because your focus is on the material things of this earth. They will someday break, or go out of fashion. Ads these days are designed not only make you discontent with what you have, but with with who you are.

There is only one thing that will fill your void. God. He created you, for a purpose. If you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, that He came to earth, died on the cross, and risen and will come to judge the earth one day, you will be saved. A life in Christ might not be totally easy, but His burden is easy and yoke is light (Matthew 11:30). I believe that God has a purpose for me. When you trust Jesus, He will have a purpose for you too. Like me you might not know what it is straight away, but you can trust that God has everything in control. And the best thing is eternal life once a Christian dies.

You need to get connected with the spiritual realm. The world is composed of two realms, the material one, which is where the most important action happens, and the spiritual realm, which is a realm of pure energy that contains individual spirits and God within it. In one's sleep one's spirit will often leave the body, travel in the spiritual realm, and connect with spirits, some of the living , some of the dead. Dreams seems sometimes to be really real, that is because they are, but in a the spiritual realm, not the material one. Our overly material world, dulls our connection to our own spirit and the spiritual realm, by all its overindulging. We have spiritual senses or intuition, that make us aware of the spiritual. To make yourself stronger and more sensitive spiritually, meditate/ pray, do mind-body exercises, eat healthy, don't overindulge, and look for inspiration from all sources available. Find some inspiring books on the subject. Follow your heart.

Well how is your family situation? Sometimes people who lack real love and emotional bonds in life try to replace it with material things.

Have you got many friends? Are you close to them? Are you close with your family? Are you in a loving relationship? If the answer to all of those or most of those is no then there is your problem :)

Brianna! Jesus loves you!! did you know that!?
if not...that's why you feel so empty...if you answered yes to this ? then maybe its time to renew yourself in the Lord!
Try goin to church...it doesnt really matter what church...I would suggest an upeat contemporary church...ask about a bible study...this will be very helpful if you dont really have the basics of Jesus and the church!
When you ask Jesus to come inro your heart and be your savior you will feel like a new person! It will make you feel new, "born again"
God is the answer to your emptiness...this I can be SURE of....you'll never be able to live your life to it's complete fullness untill you allow Him to come into your heart!! God is LOVE!!

Averell & Rufus hit it on the head. Get a Bible and start in the book of John (new testament) John 3:16 :For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that whoever believes in Him would not perish, but have everlasting life."
