and to ridicule Christianity (for the same reason)?

What does this tell you about the advantages of being straight?

Is the talked about "perceived" gay bashing dying out lately, or did it get over-reported?

Is it their own oddness, or perceived prejudice that kills UNgay young people???

God loves ALL His children. Does he HATE this behaviour?

Sense Jesus supposedly rose from the dead in three days, doesn't that mean he really didn't "give his life for us"? Come on, I would give my life up for three days right now for 50 dollars.

My girlfriend recently asked me an interesting question regarding worship and I wasn't sure what to say. Just thought I'd see what everyone else has to say about it. It was something along the following lines.

"If God is all perfect, humble, etc., why does he want everyone to worship and praise him for creating mankind and sending his son as a sacrifice? That just seems kind of contradictory and self-centered."

Can you conceive of ANYTHING that, if it occured, would demonstrate that God is not perfectly moral? I'm not suggesting it could ever happen, I'm only asking for you to imagine what it might be?

possible examples:
If the Pope were assisinated...
If 6 million Jews were killed by fascists...
If the only person killed in a bridge collapse was a 6 month old baby...
If a major hurricane wiped out large portions of a major U.S. city...

Basically, this is a yes/no question. But if yes, then say what event it might be...

If so, where?

Why would there be a commandment to not worship other gods?

I understand that Yahweh picks on those who worship idols but it says nothing about other gods. As a matter of fact some other gods get some play in the old testament.

The new testament is quiet on this issue.

Funny thing is, works of Shakespeare and Holy Bible (seventh bible) were spawned about the same time. Both have been studied and debated extensively for 400 yrs.

No doubt Shakespeare was contemporary with King James; And had the same royal favor as Translators of the Bible appointed to make the seventh bible, as one better from six good; in the same fashion God saw good x6, but very good seventh time in Genesis 1.

Shakespeare was a master of allegory. Paul The Apostle, writer of more NT than all six other NT writers combined, says it's all "allegory" in both "covenants": Galatians 4.

Shakespeare said "all the worlds a stage"; Perhaps for the biblical shew, a God shew: comparative teaching, in the form of allegoric mystery to solve in time, by seek and find allegory clues to solve the mysteries of God; Paul being a faithful "steward" of said "mysteries of God".

Shakespeare also said: every man plays a part in the shew, one man playing seven parts in his time. Which one?

I had the priviledge of seeing singer-songwriter Dennis Jurnigan (You are my All in All) the last 2 nights at our church. What a wonderful worship experience it truly was. I've never been the type of believer who throws his hands up in the air in worship like alot of people do during the music......and my question is about that.

Are some of us Christians just a whole lot more thankful than others?

I know I'm saved and I am forever greatful for that. But I just don't show it during worship......but others do......and sometimes go overboard with it a little. I don't want to attract attention in church......I'd rather be humble in my worship.

What are your thoughts on this?

Thanks,

Primo

Ok, I'm an American woman visiting Pakistan until December 4th. I've been here since October 8th and I'm still alive. I've gone out on a few occasions uncovered, red hair shining in the sun, due to some weddings I was invited to and because my former father in law said it was OK. In Quetta, same story. If Pakistan is supposed to be overrun by die-hard extremists and if that rumor of every American coming here gets killed is true, then why is it after over a month of being here and a lot of travelling various parts of the country, I'm still alive and never even received a dirty look? If what these people who wish for the death of every Muslim say is true, how is it that this American white skinned at times uncovered woman is still alive and her children are in great health? Could they be wrong as we have been saying all along? Could those who hate us be wrong that all want to kill Americans and that no place is safe? I think so, what about you?

How are we saved or justified with God? Is it by a mere legal act by which God declares the sinner to be meriting heaven even though he remains in fact unjust and sinful?

Is it a real eradication of sin, or just a covering or non-imputation? Is it an inner renewal and a real sanctification or only an external application of Christ’s righteousness?

Please state your church and teaching.

I wanted to become a nun for the longest time. God has shown me signs that he wanted me to become a nun. Shown me that is the path to take. Then I found someone I love and now going out with this person. I feel like I am hurting God. He has shown me so much that the path to religious life was the way to go and now I don't know.
