And at the same time remain as an arm-chair Christian, Buddhist, Muslim, Hindu ---that is to say, just read about the religions, current activities, attending the various houses of worship to listen to certain gems of teachings? Am i breaking any serious 'laws' or will i be 'damned' ?

I think I might be, but I'm not sure if it is a sin or not. The only passages on homosexuality I've found in The Bible is to not have sexual intercourse with another male. What do you think?

If the answer is either shouldn't we be able to detect his presence, or at least the effects of his presence?

If the answer is neither isn't it safe to say that he doesn't exist?

google it, in hebrew the word allah means curse

Funny, no wonder why there was no mention of that name until 600 years after the death iof christ

The hebrew language is one of the oldest in the world, and allah ahs always meant curse in hebrew

so why after thousands of years, does God change his name meaning I AM in hebrew (as he is eternal and can not change) to ALLAH which means Curse?

when Jesus said he that brigns you a gospel other than this let him be accursed

what he was saying is, he that brings you another Gospel let him be allah

So imagine the dreasd on those Jews and chrsitians faces when people went round worshipping Allah all of a sudden in 600Ad

if you spoke hebreew you knew trhen and there it was astounding, why the Word Curse was used as a Deitys name

And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light

So when Muhammed went round saying he sawe Gabriel, did he really?

I am a non-muslim living in a muslim majority country but i have never asked this question to my muslim friends as it is very sensitive over here to ask this type of question. Pork, alcohol, gambling are all prohibited in Islam but why are muslims observe stricter abstinence from pork than consuming alcohol or gambling. Muslims often feel uneasy even at the mere mention of the word " pork " but many do not hesitate to consume alcohol or gamble Is the sin of consuming pork more than consuming alcohol / gambling ? I know in Islam pig is regarded as a dirty animal and hazardous to humans. In today's world, smoking and drugs are life threathening acts but many Muslims indulge in them but at the same time do not consume pork. If Muslims do not eat pork because they think its dirty and will bring harm to their health why can't they think the same way for smoking and drugs ?

Please do not take this question negatively and answer with an open mind

How can God send us to purgatory to pay for our sins when He does not remember our sins? It is clear when we repent God forgives, forgets, and cleanses us from our sins. It says when we confess our sins He cleanses us from all unrighteousness. Why do we need to be cleansed from sin after death if He already cleansed us in life?

Jeremiah 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

Psalm 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

and that all men preach to that one God in their own way. Are they wrong to think that way or are there many Gods. If there is just one God then why do so many religions despise each other.

I wonder, how many people, like myself, who was brainwashed by parents, teachers and various priests had the intelligence, tenacity and foresight to question their outrageous religious beliefs, brainwashed, until I was 16, and now I am strictly a non-believer and cannot understand how an intelligent person can even imagine there are gods who create miracles, and that man, Jesus, who actually thought he was the son of a god.
Question: Have you ever questioned what you were taught those many years ago? And how did it turn out?
No unprovable bible quotes, PLEASE!!

Coming to a theater near you -- the "Intelligent Design vs. Darwin" debate. The new movie Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed, starring Ben Stein, investigates the scientific and educational communities and how they deal with those who suggest that there might be some sort of intelligent design in nature
Producer Mark Mathis says the documentary uncovers a massive effort to silence those who disagree with evolutionary theory.

"The way that the academic elitist and the atheists constantly position this issue is that this is a science versus religion [debate]," he explains. "[They are saying] 'so you folks who have religious views, you have no place here in the real world of science' -- that's how they position it; and it's not true, that's not true. The folks who are doing research in this area of intelligent design are looking at, exclusively at, the science

I've always thought organised religion was overall a bad thing, but this is just insane!

They refuse life-saving blood transfusions, yet they symbolically consume the blood and flesh of a person who's been dead for 2000 years!

Sheer madness.

The Comet brightens mysteriously by a factor of a million?
Maybe some of you can enlighten us here why it has>??
Since 23 October, it has brightened by a million times and now resembles a bright yellow star.
A yellow Star in Judasim is the Star of David stands as a reminder that for the Jewish people...IN GOD WE TRUST
The six points of the Star of David symbolize God's rule over the universe in all six directions: north, south, east, west, up and down.

"This is equivalent to the planet Saturn suddenly becoming as bright as the Full Moon," David Morrison, senior scientist at the NASA Astrobiology Institute in Moffett Field, California, US, wrote in an email newsletter.
So what is it?

Very often you tell us that we, bible-bashers, take scripture "out of context"....

What exactly does this mean? :

"Revelation 1: And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.

2And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority."

Is this yet another metaphor that anyone can adapt to suit their purpose?

You keep telling us that "the Truth lies in the Bible"....so this seven-headed, ten-horned beast is supposed to actually exist? Or is it the subject of speculation?

....I never knew that "the Truth" could be subjected to speculation. BTW: I've heard countless interpretations (all different) of the verses above, from Christians.

Seems like "the path" has too many forks...

Whenever your kids are out of control, you can take comfort from the thought that even God's omnipotence did not extend to God's kids. After creating heaven and earth, God created Adam and Eve. And the first thing he said was, "Don't."

"Don't what?" Adam replied. "Don't eat the forbidden fruit," God said. Forbidden fruit? We got forbidden fruit? Hey, Eve...we got forbidden fruit!"

"No way!"

"Way!"

"Don't eat that fruit!" said God.

"Why?"

"Because I am your Father and I said so!" said God (wondering why he hadn't stopped after making the elephants). A few minutes later God saw his kids having an apple break and was angry. "Didn't I tell you not to eat the fruit?" God asked.

"Uh huh, " Adam replied.

"Then why did you?"

"I dunno" Eve answered.

"She started it!" Adam said.

"Did not!"

"Did too!"

"DID NOT!"

Having had it with the two of them, God's punishment was that Adam and Eve should have children of their own. Thus the pattern was set and it has never changed. If God had trouble handling children, what makes you think it would be a piece of cake for you?

Psalms 40:6(7) for instance, "Sacrifice and meal offering You have not desired; My ears You have opened."

In many translations, in the footnotes there will be reference indicating that the Septuagint disagrees with "...my ears you have opened." Instead it translates, "...a body you have prepared for me."
There is zero similarity between the two verses. How can it be translated differently in the Septuagint and why????

Can someone please tell me which verse in the Bible does it say that whoever protects Israel is blessed by God?

Can someone also tell me Bible verse where it says that Israel is the land given to the Jews by God? Or the Verse where God gives Israel that land and specifies where it is?

This is not a sarcastic question. I just want Bible verses. Thank you.

a move in the right direction for the Jehovahs Witnesses. There is a group within the Organisation called "The Associated Witnesses for Reform on blood.
We are a group of Witnesses from many countries. Some members are presently serving as elders and Hospital Liason Commitee members or have previously served in that capacity.
Our objective is, to educate Jehovahs Witnesses, their family members, friends and healthcare providers regarding the irrational aspects of the Watchtower Societys policy on the use of blood and blood products. and to bring an end to a tragic and misguided policy which has claimed thousands of lives, many of them children."
