I am a non-muslim living in a muslim majority country but i have never asked this question to my muslim friends as it is very sensitive over here to ask this type of question. Pork, alcohol, gambling are all prohibited in Islam but why are muslims observe stricter abstinence from pork than consuming alcohol or gambling. Muslims often feel uneasy even at the mere mention of the word " pork " but many do not hesitate to consume alcohol or gamble Is the sin of consuming pork more than consuming alcohol / gambling ? I know in Islam pig is regarded as a dirty animal and hazardous to humans. In today's world, smoking and drugs are life threathening acts but many Muslims indulge in them but at the same time do not consume pork. If Muslims do not eat pork because they think its dirty and will bring harm to their health why can't they think the same way for smoking and drugs ?

I'm no muslim scholar, but I believe that if one consumes pork, they will never see allah.
I lost that privilege around the age of 4 or 5.
I guess allah just ain't hip wit da swine.

Pork,Alcohol, and Gambling are all Haram in Islam and the Muslims you hang around with that do drink alcohol are also sinning. There is no sin that equals more than the other. A sin is a sin And some Muslims are ignorant not all of them are perfect angels we are human too just like everyone else. Just because your Muslim does not mean you will not sin or have to live a perfect life without sin.

Pork is not permissible, neither is smoking or drugs. Let me ask? You see Muslims consuming alcohol, and taking drugs? Why are you hanging around ppl like that? Could it be you're taking drugs? It doesn't matter what the religion, I just don't want to be around anyone who smokes, drinks, do drugs, or eat pig!

The passage in Leviticus referring to pork is a classic example of humans writing the bible, and at the time not having any safe method to prepare pork.
It is also why christians rewrote God's law so they can put bacon bits on the salad, and pass the pork chops.

This is a good question actually.. i dont say that drinking and drugs are good for health..!! it is bad for muslims and non muslims..!! but people are tempted by these things.. !! they seek pleasure in drinking..!! they believe that drinking is not a big sin coz they like it..!! they dont consume pig coz they dont like it..!!
this is very simple..!! They are not true muslims..!! they pretend to be muslims..!!

Who said smoking and drugs are allowed in Islam, harming your body is a sin and smoking or doing drugs are definately not allowed,

Will you then keep back?" Their surroundings have been tainted thus their mind set. Their level of belief is not where it should be. I do not know your exact situation but if you can bring it to their attention sometimes we as people don't realize the things we do, we have tunnel vision and sometimes outside looking in can be a good concept. Truth hurts.
