In Islam Shirk is the unforgiable sin. Shirk means taking others for gods. Christianity you can do whatever you want and just give pat robertson a few thousand dollars so he can buy a new mansion and you are saved

I don't know about Islam, but I was taught in Christianity that God will forgive any sin. I personally think that God should not forgive every sins, there are some that are just to horrible. Like the man who killed my best friend on October 4th. Should a man that killed an innocent 17 year old girl be forgiven??? They say blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is an unforgivable sin, but I am not sure on that. There are many sins that are unforgivable to us humans. Like I cannot forgive the man who killed my best friend, I cannot forgive the terrorists who killed my friends on September 11th, 2001, and I cannot forgive God for the deaths of three really, really close friends. They were practically family. And they all died with in 3 months of eachother. I also can't forgive God for the death of my best friend who died October 4th. That is just what I have been taught and my personal opinion. I hope it helps. Have a great day!!!

I've heard the only unforgivable sin in Christianity has to do with blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, though I may be wrong about that.

Not sure if there is an unforgivable sin in Islam, and if so, what it could be.

Assalaamo alaikum, (peace be upon you) the only unforgivable sin in Islam is disbelief interior the actual God or through fact the Quran places it "shirk". This includes atheism, polytheism, pantheism ... any kind of -ism that doesn't understand the actual author and Sustainer of the universe and renders the affection and prayers through Him to somebody or something else. this is the only unforgivable sin that Islam teaches that God won't forgive, in need of this, all different sins are forgivable via God. Peace

There is an oblique remark in the New Testament that the only sin inforgivable is to blaspheme against the Holy Spirit. Now since nobody has any idea what the Holy Spirit really is, I dare anybody to explain what that means!
I think all sins are forgivable by the death of Jesus is we ask for it and repent of our sins (that means stopping the sin, in case anybody's not clear on the concept).

In Christianity, all sins are forgivable if confessed with true contrition. Some people say blasphemy is unforgivable, but I don't feel that way, because that's not how forgiveness works.

All sins are forgivable in Islam if the person sincerely repents to Allah. The thing that cannot be forgiven if the person does not repent of it before dying is shirk or taking partners with Allah. Allah says [Allah forgiveth not that partners should be set up with Him; but He forgiveth anything else, to whom He pleaseth; to set up partners with Allah is to devise a sin most heinous indeed] (An-Nisaa' 4:48).
