I wonder, how many people, like myself, who was brainwashed by parents, teachers and various priests had the intelligence, tenacity and foresight to question their outrageous religious beliefs, brainwashed, until I was 16, and now I am strictly a non-believer and cannot understand how an intelligent person can even imagine there are gods who create miracles, and that man, Jesus, who actually thought he was the son of a god.
Question: Have you ever questioned what you were taught those many years ago? And how did it turn out?
No unprovable bible quotes, PLEASE!!

I was raised as a jw and taught that whatever the watchtower society said was infallible, and that asking questions meant you were either wicked and/or faithless. So, I started asking questions and did not get one satisfying answer. I decided to leave the cult, and have been very happy ever since.

I am a JW because I did think for myself. I question most things in life and get around to questioning the rest when I have time. Of course I ask questions all the time. I accept the Bible as God's Word. This is due to archeology and science. I actually read the books and not just pretend I did.

JWs actually look in the Bible to find out what it says. We don't have a clergy class. Each one works at study to find the truth. We don't depend on any idols or chants or "saints". We don't believe in the ridiculous things not from the Bible like trinity or hellfire. Ask someone a few questions about the trinity and their mind locks up with "It's a mystery." True Bible teachings are logical because they come from a logical, orderly God. All teachings from the Bible make sense, not goofiness.

Brainwashing, I see, is what the other religions claiming to be Christian use. How else would normal reasonable people possibly believe a loving God would create something like hellfire to torture people forever? It makes absolutely no sense. It is easy to tell from a little study this is a pagan doctrine and nothing Jehovah would have anything to do with.

I was never a JW but I am a christian and have been so for 30yrs. Unlike the brainwashed folk that you speak of I was nearly 21 when I became a believer.
It is not a case of me suddenly trying "religion" but a case of God revealing himself to me, for me to believe that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Saviour and then God giving me the strength to live daily for his glory ever since.
I have to agree with you that Jesus Christ was not the son of a god, however he is the Son of God.

in a few years you will see how blood tranfusion will be stopped giving the reason to the bible not to Jehovah´s witnesses, we only apply what we see in the bible, maybe people don´t like my answer but if people believe in Jesus Christ then what are they scared he can do a miracle and we have the hope of resurrection unless you don´t believe in Jesus of course.

Acts 15:28-29 "For the holy spirit and we ourselves have favored adding no further burden to YOU, except these necessary things, 29 to keep abstaining from things sacrificed to idols and from blood and from things strangled and from fornication. If YOU carefully keep yourselves from these things, YOU will prosper. Good health to YOU!”

The bible forbid it , the only blood the bible authorize to use is Jesus ´s blood to "drink" in Luke 22 and to "wash" in Revelation 7.

One thing is to eat things strangled that have the blood inside and other is blood, if a doctor told you can´t eat suger no matter how you put in your body by your veins or drinking or eating sugar is the same.

Jesus Christ in the only authorize to give his blood to give us the life, if you accept the blood of other person you are accepting the life given by anyone else instead of Jesus Christ.

Even in the womb the blood of the creature didn´t mix with the mother , a mother can have one type of blood and the baby another kind, why the creator did it in that way?

recently I read an article of a university that told that blood transfusion are dangerous I am looking for the newspaper to put the references.

Well done Montgomery, I am so glad that you had the courage and strength to walk away from them, it cant have been easy. I hope what you did inspires other young people to question what they are being told by this organisation.

My parents allowed me to think for myself. That's why I believe the bible to be non-sense. Common sense.
