won them back with miracles and deliverers, and forgave them. Some Israelites lived long enough to see several amazing, large-scale miracles.

Since He was willing to go through all that trouble to convince the Israelites and convince them several times over, why will He now punish atheists with eternal damnation when there hasn't been any miracles like that in thousands of years?

As an atheist, I feel cheated. I want to see seas parted, and have a deliverer smite my enemies. What made the Israelites so special?

G-D performed some "major" miracles then.
But why do you think jews still follow him until today?!
I could also say like you that "I didn't see the sea split in the past 15 yrs of my existence so forget it" and yet I still serve G-D.

My first answer is that if you open your eyes you see that miracles happen every day. You have to wanna see it. When a woman has a child and survives it, it is a miracle, when a kid is in the playground and falls ten times without hurting himsellf, it is a miracle. G-d is there with each of us every day.

The second thing, is that G-d didn't turn His back to non jews. G-d only expects from non jews that they should follow 7 laws.
If you read the story of "Yonah", it says how G-D sent a prophet to a non jewish town called Ninveh so they should repent and He wouldn't have to detroy that city. (And in the end they did repent).

God made them so special, through Abraham righteousness was accounted and God made a covenant with him. It's true that the Israelites were a stubborn people at times, forgetting/overlooking the incredible miracles and deliverances that God provided for them. They had at different points in time at least one person who was willing to intercede for them and seek reconciliation for them with God.

You don't have to feel cheated. Jesus Christ has made a way for you to have a personal relationship with Him that serves as a bridge between you and Father God. "For God so loved the world (that includes YOU) that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God sent not His son into the world to condemn the world but that the world through Him might be saved." John 3:16-17
p.s. there are miracles happening all over this world.

well, christians lose faith time and time again and God has always rescued us (me). i have done the impossible! i have overcome lifestyles and habits that were impossible to even try and stop (and i had tried). i have overcome them and that is no small feat. if i think that it is all in my head why could i not stop before no matter how hard i tried? it is GOD. so the miracles that you want to see you won't see, but there are even greater ones that can happen. the ones that will really matter to you in your life. besides what could be more miraculous than resurrection of the dead?

Since you by your own admission do not believe in God, why should God perform any miracles that you should see? Turn your life over to Him and He will perform the first miracle for you....your salvation
