Catholic priests are not allowed to marry couples outside the Church, because marriage is a Sacrament for Catholics and priests have a responsibility to administer Sacraments correctly.

Why do you want a Catholic priest? Are you Catholic? If so, why would you want to marry outside the Church?

You have to have a good reason for being married outside a Catholic house of worship. Appeal to the Arch Bishop of the Diocese in which you plan to get married.

If the Arch Bishop gives his approval, you will have an easier time finding a priest that is willing to preside over the wedding ceremony.

You can get married external of the church, however you ought to get a dispensation and also you cannot have a Mass. But I wager if the Deacon is marrying you, you already don't seem to be having a Mass. Of path, the Church wishes you to get married within your church seeing that you must be married within the House of God, however it's viable to get a dispensation to be married external of the Church so long as a Catholic officiate marries you. Talk on your deacon seeing that you ought to transfer as quick as viable on that if that is what you wish. But believe additionally approximately what you might be lacking if you happen to obtained married external of the church.

i would have to ask why you want to have a priest marry you but not be in a church? this is not something that can be done by a catholic priest - sorry. you should be able to find another denominations minister, pastor, preacher (etc) that would officiate.

BTW you do know you have to be catholic (at least one of you) and have gone through the marriage classes right?!

A pastor, minister, preacher. Never a priest. It is part of their tradition, or something to do with the "institution"
