I have discovered that what you refuse to hate, you'll tolerate. If you're tolerating something in your life, you'll never change and neither will your circumstances. I know that's a pretty bold statement, but it's very true. If Satan thinks he can get away with something in your life that you're tolerating, he will, you can count on it.
What is your opinion and experience in life pertaining to the aforementioned.

We are about to have an election in Australia.
We have the Exclusive Breathern and now the Catch the Fire Ministries getting involved.
The Catch the Fire Ministries had a rally to pray for rain and support the Prime Minister today.
Keeping in mind the bibles teachings in -
John 17:16 & 18:36
James 4:4
1 John 5:19
Which all warn to have no part in this world ,do you think this shows how little respect these Christians have for the bibles teachings ?
Even if you don't believe the bible do you think Christians should get involved in goverment ?

im very upset. just had a big fight with the husband. when we met things were fine. until he got "saved".
now things are just getting worse n worse cause i dont believe exactly the same as him.
well the problem right now is with halloween. i see this as a harmless holiday for kids to get free candy. and yes i know the true history of it not the distorted one some religions try to give.
well he forbid me to take the kids out trick or treating saying that they were his kids and that what i was doing meant im going to hell and he wont have his kids follow me there!!
i was livid.
he basically told me i had to believe the same as him or he didnt know what he was gonna do. i told him if he cant respect my beliefs like i respect his that there was only one other option which was to separate. i have respected him. even going to church as a family on sundays with him but i guess this is not appreciated. im very hurt and angry about this. what should i do?

Seriously, have you? I am repeating this again for those who have not heard or do not know, but I am in Pakistan at this very moment. I've been to a high school for girls and to many shops. I've had people in houses around the ones I'm visiting come to the neighbor just to meet with and talk to me, very politely and in some cases, so nervous it was funny and we laughed. I'm here because my children have family here, but I also wanted to prove a point to those in the US who know me that no matter how many times I come here, I'm safe and know that there is no danger to me or my children. People know there is an American white woman here, and they literally either could not care or want to meet me and ask me if I like the country. Have you ever done something or gone somewhere just to prove a point?

I mean 2000 years ago he sends down Jesus to do things which are just impossible, which pretty much proves Gods existance, but now we're meant to take it on faith that he exists, why couldnt he leave some ever lasting symbol that God exists, I mean if he can come back from the dead couldn't he write "God Exists," in 50 foot high flames in the side of a cliff? or something similar.

I met a man at work the other day who was clearly homosexual. He was as nice as can be and I really liked him. He was very feminine. Now I know not all gays are feminine. But I'm wondering if he really was born this way? I know the bible is clear that homosexuality is a sin. I try to not judge as I also am a sinner. My question is are people born homosexual and what implication does this have of their salvation?

Do you find it nearly impossibleto find a Church that is actually led of the Spirit, that teaches sound doctrine, where there is true ministry? All i find is religous "social clubs" with no spirituality or biblical depth, and ther is no love, only a whole lot of pretence. Tell me i'm not alone.

1 John 2; 18-young children, it is the hour, and just as you have heard that antichrist is coming, even now there have come to be many antichrists, from which fact we gain the knowledge that it is the last hour. John stated that the antichrist has already arrived, Who or what do you consider to be the antichrist?

it was people other than Jesus that wrote the scriptures so how do you know that what was written is what Jesus had really said or done ?
so because man is not perfect and the scriptures were written by man that makes the scriptures imperfect making the bible faulable there for not creditable

I am not a huge fan of the Harry Potter books, but I do like the films. My question is this...why is every one so up in arms that one of the main characters is gay? I think it is stupid! Christian groups are so up set that Dumbledore is gay, but I thought they did not read the books because it promoted witch-craft? AHHHH I am Christian and I am tired of the ignorance, and the petty causes Christians fight for, are there not more pressing issues in the world other than a gay fictional character in a book they are not supposed to read? Christians wonder why people look at us like inbred, ignorant, boarder line retarded, jerks! Please tell me I am not the only one who feels this way!

In the Book of the Prophet Malachi from the Old Testament:
"Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord."
Do you think this is a reference to the historical, Biblical Elijah, coming to earth again, or is it a reference to a man who is a prophet similar to Elijah, of the same type as Elijah?

If you met someone that told you that you must believe them, follow them and do everything they said "OR" they would send you to hell and burn you forever night and day forever.

What kind of "Friend" would that be?

Is this what Jesus taught?

cos perfection is an absolute, so if he acted he'd change (from ot having acted to having acted) so therefore wouldn't be perfect. what's the answer to this?

I've noticed at looking at different religions I see some common threads and I'd like to have your thoughts.

First there is the "bonus" you get for joining: Heaven, eternal life. As an example: Mohamand promised virgins, Jesus promised Mansions..."IF" you follow their picticular teaching.

and I right here?

The Down-Side: If you reject the "teachings" and don't become a follower...you revieve hell and will be burnt, nashing of teeth day and night and so forth..."IF" you don't follow and "believe" they are who they say they are.

What I get from Chrsitianity is this: Follow it and you get a Mansion and eternal life....don't follow it and you will be forever in FIRE tortured night & day forever and nashing your teeth.

Am I wrong in this conclusion??? Can anyone tell me I'm wrong in my understanding WITHOUT Double talk?
I guess I would appreciate some honesty and straight forwardness.......am I wrong?

Warning: this is a long question that may require you to think. If you don't like that go to P&S.

Bible literalists/ fundamentalists (I realize not all believe this way, but I had to narrow it down somehow) usually read the Bible literally, and pride themselves in this. They tend to be young earth creationists from reading the Genesis account literally and live their lives according to a strict moral standard they see outlined in the Bible. But they also seem to be (once again not always) more of the premillenial dispensational mindset about the end times. They take on those particular views of the rapture, anti-christ, and tribulation.

This is where I get confused. A lot of the theology about the antichrist is drawn from Daniel which does not lay it out literally. Ideas from the rapture also seem to rely heavily on interpretation of scripture, not a literal reading. And I can't see how Revelation can be read literally to back up a premillenial dispensationism view of eschatology

My dad died recently and I want to do the right thing to honor his memory, so I don't want to start a brawl over a small inheritance. On the other hand, my Dad owed me money when he died that I would like to recover.

My Dad divorced my mom when I was 12. A few years later he took up with a woman that he never married or lived with, but with whom he had a relationship for 30 years. He left no will. When he passed unexpectedly, this other woman sucked money out of his bank account to cover the hospital bills and memorial service. She disposed of his property without asking if I wanted anything.

My Dad had borrowed $6000 from me and when I asked her about that debt she got very hostile. My dad didn't own a lot and I don't want to be mercenary. But I did help my dad out financially a lot over the years, and don't see why I should be left hanging, since under state law I would be the heir to his estate. I'm feeling very conflicted about the worldly vs human toll. Your thoughts?
