We believe that all Scripture is inspired by God. Even though man wrote down the words of Christ, if you look at the Gospels you will find that they are very similar. If you tried the same thing today then I dont think you would get the same consistency. Have five people follow someone around for a week, wait a week, and write down what was said and done and see how consistent they are. I think you will see what I mean.

It was a wee bit before Gutenberg and the fax machine flame-boy. The way the "word" was given out was by mouth, thus it could be passed along exponentially.

Also, aren't all science texts written by "fallible" men? Aren't all experiments and observations conducted by "fallible men? Are you saying that nothing written or done by man is therefore "credible"?

God doesn't communicate with words, He communicates through our souls or as most Christians say through the Holy Spirit. So did Jesus, although he had to use words in many instances. His teaching emanated through him into the world, not as language, but as pure truth. The words can never get it quite right, he knew that, so he didn't waist his time with it. He was busy touching lives and raising awareness. To follow his example is to allow Gods truth to emanate through you without mucking it up with a lot of words and ideas of your own interfering.

he had his arms in the air saying 'as you see there's nothing up this sleeve, nor that one, and if my fair assistant will pass me that barrel of water, I shall turn it into Blue Nun right before your eyes!'
very hard to write with arms in the air.
