how do you ask her to respect your wishes if she uses the honor your parents claus? can she over ride your will and right to raise your kids the way you feel is right, or does your faith in God give her and a pastor that right?

Or are there Christians who are members of Orthodox churches who hold Protestant perspectives on certain aspects of the Bible? I guess what I am saying is: can you go to a Protestant church, and have some or one Orthodox belief and vice versa?

My 38 year old daughter, a very cheerful, beautiful and helpful young lady passed away on september 6, 2007 of multifple brain malignancies. Her sister passed away 35 years ago at 3.5 years old. I have since became an Agnostic.

Now im a non-violent person, im a very very happy person i don't believe in murder, i am pro-choice and and pro-euthanasia. Absolutely HATE violence. But, Christians i don't understand why your against abortion, i mean there going to heaven right? Same with murder, why are you against murder? they are going to be judged right?


People like to say since your atheist why don't you go around killing people. You don't have anyone to face. I don't kill because i don't have a right to do so. Its not fair to the other person. So it made me think of this.

first of all i'd like to thank all who have responded, i respect all your anwsers & may allah (god) be with us all. now does anyone know who wrote the 14 epistles in the bible(new testament) & are they divinely inspired & by whos permission ? if the first 4 books in the new testament are books written by matthew,mark luke & john are they gods word or mans? i will elaborate more on the subject! but would love to hear your opinions. i truelly thank you all! i love dialogue! as we continue you share your understanding & i'll share mine.

Has any of you been on this forum for a full twenty-four hours?
The longest I think I've been on here was about ten hours or so.
But, I could see someone spending twenty-four hours on here.
Which goes along with my next question.
Do you think we should have a day when all the R&S regulars stay on for a full twenty-four hours? It would be kind of like the Jerry Lewis telethons. What do you think of that idea?

1. Why do you say RAmen?? Why is it in capitals?

I heard these two kids talking about a muslim boy named "Muhammad" in my class and one of them said "Muhammad looks like Saddam Hussein" and the other started laughing. Then, they started talking about how he could be a terrorist and bomb the school down. The boy was obviously a nice, and innocent boy. How rude is this, and how can anyone think they have the right to say something like that??

It's not as if Jesus burned in Hell for eternity like the rest of us are supposedly going to (I know many of you DON'T believe in a Hell of eternal torment).

Besides, how many of you wouldn't give up your only child to save the eternal souls of millions? How could I expect any less of ANYBODY in Jesus' position?

Besides, some people believe that WE choose Hell for ourselves, but others believe that God choose us for Hell:

"Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honor, and another unto dishonor? What if God, willing to show His wrath, and to make His power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction: and that He might make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy, which He afore prepared unto glory." Romans 9:21-23

Either way, NO MATTER HOW YOU SPIN IT, it is God that made Hell. It is God that created beings he knew would burn in Hell. Why create them? There's no reason but pure evil.
