The Holy Spirit is the Teacher of the INDIVIDUAL according to the Bible, and believers learn from Him.
The catholics are not saved Christians, yet they make claim that they are homogenous. They are not. There are catholics that are:
-Romanist
-Non-romanist
-Gay
-Agnostic
-Believe in eternal hell
-Say everyone goes to heaven
They are more splintered than the protestants.

There are over 30,000 protestant denominations....which one would you believe and how would you decide? There is only one Church that was started by Jesus. Jesus sent his disciples out to spread the Word, the Good News. If one is protestant and starts to feel a calling by the Holy Spirit that something seems to be missing, then it might be the person needs to pray alot, alot more, and even more, and if the feeling persists, contact a Catholic priest and/or join the RCIA to learn what they are missing. People can call themselves Christians and do some very anti-Christ-like things and say some very anti-Christian things. If you find anyone who degrades another Christian of any denomination, you can know that Christ is not the center of their heart. "Orthodox" with a small "o" is commonly used but misinterpreted far too often. There are alot of different Catholics all in union with the Pope. Most people think it's just the "Roman" Catholics. Far from it. There is the Eastern Rite as well. If you are thinking that you may be feeling a tug toward the Catholic Church, then go to one and just sit there when no one else is there if you are shy....for 15 minutes, longer if you want of course. Alot of people call themselves Catholic, but their actions are what decides the truth of that. Just as all protestant denominations ..... people will say I am this or that. But when you ask "what do you believe" you will get an answer of what they "don't" believe.

I've known some Orthodox people who hold some Protestant positions. I know some Protestants who hold some good Orthodox and Catholic positions.
I think there is obviously a reason for this. The Orthodox/Catholic Creeds of all of Christendom teach of only ONE Church. We all share the commonality of being a part of the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church...which was undivided for the first 1,054 years....and did not have the ideas of Protestantism until the late 1400's.

Yes, you can. of course. Since we are all human, and extremely individual in much of what we believe, we can have a lot of different views that can match all kinds of religions. In my experience, people within the same church have different views of scripture, interpretation of meaning, etc. It's certainly possible that views by one sect of the Christian faith are going to mirrow those of another, since there is rarely 100% agreement in any church on what the whole thing means.

I like NIV the best, but I have many translations.
Only be aware of the Bible translations like Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses have. They claim to be Christians but they are not. They do not even believe in Trinity
