If you accepted Jesus as your Savior then know that Jesus has forgiven you. Its time to forgive yourself. Jesus paid it all. Don't give in to the doubt that you feel. The devil thrives on guilt and shame. Take your burden to the Cross and leave it there. Cry out to God. Repent .. Rejoice in the Lord. Our God is an awesome God. "Taste and see that the Lord is Good."

Try to relax. The best way to end a battle like that is from doing your own research. If you have your own knowledge of things, nobody can take that away, and you can make up your own mind about things much better that way.

So forget for the time being, the conflict going on in your mind, and just start doing some reading and research on God, and on where the ideas the church has taught you came from.

You don't have to make up your mind right now, don't worry, you're fine. Educate yourself, and decide on your own.

If you still believe in God enough to be able to talk to God, but are afraid of God, try feeling love for God instead. If you had kids would you rather they wanted you because they loved you or because they were forced into it by fear? Talk to God, explain how you are feeling, it won't be the first time or the last time. Be calm, it will be alright, it really will.

Perhaps you should seek to understand what the "grace of God" is, in whatever way you decide that may be. I am familiar with the struggle you have described, and I feel that it is, in part due to your coming of age; the body versus the spirit.

It has been said that the more willing you are to believe something, the more skeptical you must be in approaching that believe. The fact that you struggle is, in ways, a promising sign that you will, in some way, benefit from the knowledge you will achieve, through epiphany, at the end of your plight. Just don't give up, and choosing to take the easy way out of your problem. The best rewards are attained through perseverance.

I recommend you find and read the poem, "Footsteps in the Sand." If you have never read it, now would be a good time. It is in human nature to question things or have doubts (at times), so long as you seek within your heart you will find a way to the answer. As Peter reminded Christians, in the New Testament: Be strong. Be vigilant.

The fact that you are tormented proves you are a good person. Wouldn't your Creator know that? Evil feels no shame or regret. Your main responsibility as a young person is to grow and learn.

So you have doubts, I think most believers do at some time, you can't beat yourself up about it. That big brain that you have will cause you question every aspect of life, that only proves it's in working order.

I realize you sought answers from a believers perspective but I once was a young believer and during a crisis of faith the adults I leaned on were of no help. I hoped people would treat me with kindness and respect, they instead gave me Bible verses to study.

I hope you have people in your life who are more human and considerate than I had.

I wish you peace,
Pantheist

It's really very simple to work this out. You are 13 and at the 'age of accountabiliy'.... You should talk with a pastor and go through your doubts/questions one by one. There's no need for you to be afraid of anything or God. God loves you. Apparently, you believe in God. All you have to do is pray to Him and talk to Him about those things that are bothering you. Confess your sins and if you are truly sorry for what you have done, ask Him for forgiveness. God judges the heart. He knows if you have repented from those sins. God doesn't 'save up' our sins, he scatters them as far as the east is from the west. Meaning they are gone!! They are forgiven. You get a second chance. God is the God of second chances. When Jesus went to the cross, He covered our sins. They are already dealth with. You will not be judged for them when you die. If you are a Christian, my friend, you will live with Jesus forever.

Remember the disciple Thomas. He doubted. And Jesus didn't get angry at him. Everybody deals with doubts at one time in their life - don't be so hard on yourself. You're just a child - a teen. God is not a dictator, God is your Father in Heaven. He loves you and He laid down his life for you. That's very real, dear one.

Hey, don't panic! It's something that happens to most believers. I once gave up and decided okay, there's no God. It's all just fiction. It lasted for only two days, the emptiest most depressing two days of my life!

Don't worry, and don't listen to the cynical people that answered you. God is real, he is there and he loves you. He knows and understands your doubt. He didn't condemn me when I doubted him, so I know!

BTW, Mother Theresa didn't die in complete doubt! People get the tail of a story and then embroider and add whatever they want. The truth is that, like you and I, she went through periods of doubt.

Let me tell you some of the things that strengthened my faith. My husband once went through a lot of pain after an operation, and the pain killers didn't work. Not even an injection the doctor gave him made any difference. So that night by about 4 am I prayed for him, but I didn't expect anything to happen and felt a bit silly. When he opened his eyes he said that the pain had completely gone. He said he could feel it draining from his head down.

And if you click on this link you can read about another miracle I experienced:

It happens to everybody at onetime or another, but you just have to learn to work through them times when God is absent in your life. Look @ Mother Theresa. She DID NOT say that she didn't belive in God anymore, but that she did not FEEL the presence of God in her life. Her preseverance to Faith should be an example for everyone going through the same problem you have now. Also, If you're Catholic, go to Confession. Trust Me. It's the only way that all your sins will be fully forgiven. That'll make everything better. CyaL8r.

There is nothing to worry about.

The only unforgivable eternal sin is blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. Not blasphemy of the Father or the Son, just blasphemy of the Holy Spirit only. Blasphemy of the Father and the Son are forgiven, but blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is never forgiven.

It is okay to doubt the Father and the Son, it's forgiven, but how is it that you cannot doubt the Holy Spirit, even when you doubt the Father and the Son?

What exactly is the Holy Spirit?

How can you separate the Holy Spirit from God and Jesus?

Where is the Holy Spirit?

Figure it out and you will know salvation.

You are very much okay, don't sweat it.
He is with you, even in doubt.

We all doubt and question things... that's part of being human. God gave us free will and a brain to use and we are to question to learn and ask things. We often doubt and especially when things get tough we question if God is there for us. However, one thing is for certain God DOES love you, he NEVER turns His back on us. It is us who turns our back on him but He never leaves us and always loves us and will forgive us. He will forgive our sins and things we've done and throw them away, as far as the East is from the West.

So, don't be so hard on yourself, that is what Satan likes to do to us. The bible tells us we must take up our cross daily...so that means we will continue to fall short, continue to sin and continue to do things wrong, but when we take up our cross daily, die to our sinful nature and TRY to live right, God knows our hearts and if we confess our sins (yes daily if we have to, or hourly if we have to) it's with a contrite and sincere heart that God will forgive us our sins. If you have a bible read the following...if you don't have one got to biblegateway.com and enter the following scriptures. Hope this helps you...don't ever lose faith, He loves us and tells us he will NEVER leave us or forsake us.
