98:6 Verily, those who disbelieve (in the religion of Islâm, the Qur'ân and Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) from among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) and Al-Mushrikûn will abide in the Fire of Hell. They are the worst of creatures.

If it's not taken out of context then do Muslims believe Christians and Jews are the worst of creatures?

Just wondering. Thanks.

So basically, this is NOT taken out of context and is true. Anyone that does not claim the title of Muslim is the worst of creatures to Allah, which would mean Muslims agree with that. Thanks.

Oh, and thanks for quoting the OT to try and prove your love for the non-Muslims. Totally irrelevant to the question and no longer applies thanks to Jesus!

If everyone would just realize that Jesus is the only way, that only He can judge any of us, that we are to love one another, then this question would not even be necessary. Unfortunately it is necessary since there are some Muslims around the world who definitely agree with this statement and wouldn't hesitate to kill the "awful creatures".

this is just one of the verses that abrogated all of the mecca verses, muslims love to quote the koran and say there is no compulsion in religion, however they forget to say it was abrogated. q9:28 says kill them until only islam q9:29 kill all non- believers q9:123 kill the unbelievers in allah Q 9:5 kill non-believers wherever you find them.
muslims will not tell you about abrogation. its easy for non- muslims to understand. when two verses are in contridiction the latter is to be followed. so when they say to you your religion and me to mine. it's quite easy to see thats its in contridiction of q9:123 kill unbelievers in allah. they are hundreds calling for the killing on non-muslims.

1st, "the people of the Scripture" includes all jews, christians and muslims generally speaking.
2nd, if the context meant "the people of the earlier Scripture," [which seems to be the case] then, it includes only jews and christians.
3rd, According to the context a true muslim is the best of creatures as s/he believes. But don't the jews and christians also believe in God? They do. What if they don't? In that case they are the worst. It is also true for a nominally fake muslim who claims to be one but actually does not believe in one God.

Then, what is the difference among the 3 creeds? Well, historically speaking, Islam is the 3rd and last updated version of the same creed, while Judaism and Christianity are the 1st and the 2nd. Once Islam came, all its previous versions were formally abolished through announcement in the quran.

No we don't believe they are. In fact the Quran also says that there are those of the People of the Book (meaning Christians and Jews) that Allah will reward because they pray to him and do good deeds (basically follow what Allah has set forth).

It has been pointed out clearly that the followers of the earlier Books and the idolaters who would refuse to acknowledge this Messenger are the worst of creatures: their punishment is an everlasting Hell; and the people who would believe and act righteously, and would spend life in the world in awe of God, are the best of creatures: their reward is eternal Paradise wherein they will live for ever. Allah became well pleased with them and they became well pleased with Allah.

So it's very logical indeed.

Without the commentary the verses reads:

those who disbelieve from amoung the people...are the worst of creatures.

Yep, we believe that. The Quran also says (to clarify):

(3:113-17) Not all of them are alike: of the People of the book are a portion that stand (for the right); they rehearse the signs of God all night long and then prostrate themselves in adoration.
They believe in God and the Last Day; they enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong; and they (hasten in emulation) in (all) good works; they are in the ranks of the righteous.
Of the good that they do nothing will be rejected of them; for God knoweth well those that do right.

The Mushrikoon are idolators.

Yes , they are all the worst of all creatures....

"We must not make a covenant with idolaters, to agree on keeping peace with them or accept them practising idolatry, because it says (Deut 7:2) Thou shalt not make a covenant with them. Either they give up idolatry or they are killed. And it is forbidden to pity them, since it says (ibid.): Nor shalt thou shew mercy unto them. (HOLY BIBLE)
