Use Google images, and look up "eagle nebula pillars". Click on some of the pictures and look at them. Do you see all of those sparks floating around it? Those are actually clusters of stars, millions of times as large as our sun. Imagine how huge they are! Light, which travels at over 186,000 miles per SECOND, takes years to travel from one end of the pillars to the other.

Doesn't it make you amazed at how small we are in comparison? Imagine those sparkling star clusters as atoms, or, imagine the countless atoms inside of our own bodies as stars and galaxies. Imagine how colossal humans are!

I'm sure I bored most of you. I'm not exactly a poet. But I hope some of you felt the same I thing I felt.

Wouldn't God have inspired this as well? Why would God inspire the English providentially accurate, but then allow misleading chapter headings? (Every chapter of the Song of Songs is interpreted as descriptive of the church. This is wrong. SoS is God's "mate selection manual." Also, Isa 22 "He prophesieth Shebna's deprivation, and Eliakim, prefiguring the kingdom of Christ, his substitution" This is wrong and reflect the incorrect theology of the day.)

Can you get a Jewish cat, or a Muslim fish, or a Christian Gerbil? Do animals, as they are created by 'the higher force' adhere to a religion. Any ideas?

I am interested to know what drew you into Christianity, and what you are getting out of it (if you are of a different religious background, feel free to write down your answer too)?

Ray Charles did it to religious songs...would religious people dare do it to regular songs? There is a lot of badly sexual songs that I really like the beat to (really soothing and relaxing, or more up beat and motivational) but the lyrics are sooo sexual it makes me blush to even think. For my own personal enjoyment, if I changed the lyrics, would I still be considered sinful because of it being a worldly song? I would really like religious people to weigh in on this one.

Do you get frustrated with the "all or nothing" attitudes of people on both sides of the arguement?

For example:

Those who think just because the government no longer favors imposed public prayer on everyone that it means they are unable to pray PERIOD in school.

vs.

Those who make a big hissy fit over God on our currency or in the Pledge or Christmas decorations etc.

I am so fed up of all the time, money and politics devoted to bantering over private spiritual, sexual and philosphical matters when we have far more pressing issues- healthcare, education, national security, abysmal foreign policy fallout, immigration, taxes and suffering middle and class!

When will people be empowered enough in their own beliefs, spirituality or convictions not to require mass conversion of the opposing side for their own peace of mind?

Especially when it comes to things that are so personal, subjective and really not a matter of our society's survival?

Your thoughts?

This question could be viewed as blasphemy by some. It is just a question to broaden ones scope on actual beliefs and the reasons why, even if there are none,

I do this in the name of God and no one has passed the test of temptation that I have given to them. These men are all hypocrites. I just keep on tempting and testing in the name of the Lord and hope to save a few souls.

I forgot. One guy did actually pass but it turns out that he was gay. So, that doesn't really count in my book or God's book.

Please, no flaming answers here...this is a legitimate question to Christians that popped in my head while reading answers to another question.

Why do so many Christians answer a question with scripture from the bible?

I personally don't mind when Christians speak of their beliefs. However, most of these answers I read remind me of waaaayy back in high school when I could look at a math or geometry problem and give the answer. I could give the answer...but not show my work. As the teacher said, if I couldn't show HOW I got the answer, it's not right.

I had one friend actually tell me that any good virtue such as love, understanding, committment, and so on were Christian concepts. He witnessed to a man one night and the man stopped him. The man responded "I don't care what bible verse you use or what Jesus said, what do you think?" My friend was stuck. Without speaking scripture, he himself couldn't answer. So why not answer with what YOU think without scripture?

Or when it comes to the physical, day-to-day, up front, faced with reality, true as truth decisions, do you realize that you actually really need the tiniest, thimble-full, peek thorough your squinting eyes, semblance of proof to base your life decisions on rather than a garbage truck loaded with faith and belief?

Or did you just rear end the garbage truck?

suffering from megalomania?

Megalomania is an unrealistic belief in one's superiority, grandiose abilities, and even omnipotence. It is characterized by a need for total power and control over others, and is marked by a lack of empathy for anything that is perceived as not feeding the self.

Or is it the followers?

If the god of Arbraham is the same god for the Jews, the Christians, and the Muslims, then why on earth is religon used by man as a weapon against mankind in the name of God? It doesn't make any sense whatsoever to declare a holy war against followers of the same deity, or could it be taht God is so freaking needy for attention that He deliberately pits people against one another by telling one group one thing and then changing the story and telling another group something else? It this all a game to Him? And if it isn't, then since He made the mess why doesn't He fix it if He's supposed to be all high and mighty powerful? Or is it just all made up fantasy and if so why, if man created this monsterous lie, can't man take it back?

My old person has been nullified
With my Lord upon the cross he died
Now in nothing shall he be applied
He is dead to me
My new Person in my spirit dwells
Springing in me as a bubbling well
Flowing out until each part He fils
With Abundant Life

Christ, My Person, in my spirit lives
And my heart toHim I'd daily give
That my inner man may have a home
And a plce to settle down, yes,
And a place to call His own
And there be my complete reality
There expressing all He is to me
Living in my heart abundantly
As my Person real

By this Person being formed in me
I'll a member of His Body be
No more acting individually
But with the saints
More and more our Person He must be
That our natural personality
Be eliminated thoroughly
Till Christ is ALL

Only Christ our Person must remain
From our aim,our goal we must refrain
Till the Church be only Christ Himself
Built up as the One New Man
Thus fulfilling God's great plan
Of mingling fully with the human race...cont/
