Personally they disgust me. The money could've been spent on cancer research or food for starving african children.

We could build an entire Rebel fleet with that.

These mega churches are almost self glorification, instead of focusing on god they have resorted to spending millions to get what exactly,a name "mega church", that name doesn't mean your better or justified in spending millions it just means that you found a way to get through the loop hole. I find them wrong on so many levels and hope that one day they will come to see that the churches are not the answer, but the people are and we should be spending money on building and feeding them and not making massive houses for hypocrites.

Megalomania is an unrealistic belief in one's superiority, grandiose abilities, and even omnipotence. It is characterized by a need for total power and control over others, and is marked by a lack of empathy for anything that is perceived as not feeding the self.

I am inclined to agree with you. I do know though, that according to certain building requirements, codes, and the like, construction costs go up.
What troubles me, is when one church spends all kinds of money on whatever building or program, but they won't help their Brothers and Sisters in a struggling church down the road, or in the next town, or across the border.
We are ALL of us in the same family.

I think it is big business. Churches are major money and they sell a product people want. Salvation from hell.

look at the pastors of these churches, take them to a used car lot or drop them in a church and they would fit right it at either. Common denominator - sales.

I have been to churches with 15 people inside.
Why does one grow to a giant and one stay so very small?
Both seem to have the same message.

Ridiculous, excessive, arrogant, and a vulgar and classless display and waste of money.
(Then again, the types of people that build mega-churches aren't exactly renowned for their class.)

They are a nauseating example of the waste and money-centric excess of America in general.

I have no use for churches in general, they should be giving to the poor and hungry people of the world.

.SIN SELLS.

If you want to have a mega church in America then you cant preach against abortion because that abortion doctor is giving.

You cant preach there is a hell (Joel Osteen) because you might make them feel bad and they will leave (well their money will leave you love their money not them).

You cant preach Gods true word because it will thin the crown of sinners going for the music and drama associated with the "big show".

And why spend the money on cancer or homeless. SPEND IT ON GIVING OUT THE GOSPEL. If you feed them and they go to hell what is gained.

Give them Jesus. Get them saved and they will get a job and clean up thier lives. God WILL provide for his own.
