I am interested to know what drew you into Christianity, and what you are getting out of it (if you are of a different religious background, feel free to write down your answer too)?

Alaskan beauty... I hear what you are saying... it is true that there are many scams... too many denominations... and too many religions... and I agree with you that $$$ plays a big part! Some times I think its all about $$$ and nothing but $$$... Would you be surprised to learn that God looks as Christendom today and He sees exactly what you see, corruption, deception, greed, and apostasy. God is not taken by surprise. He sees where religion is headed. He sees all that is being done in His name in order to deceive the whole world. He describes this so-called Christianity as Babylon, even Babylon the Great! Babylon in the book of Revelation is not a symbol for people who are against God or Christ. No. Babylon is a symbol of those professing to build the kingdom of Christ on earth except that they are doing it their own way and at the end of the day they will fight Christ in the persons of His faithful people who will be in the minority. So I encourage you to sink the shaft deeper into the mine of truth. Study the book of Revelation. Ask yourself, Who is this Mother of harlots spoken of in Revelation 17? When you understand who this mother is and who these harlots are, you will be closer, much closer to understanding why $$$ is the god of even those who profess to serve God and how God is going to finish the work on this earth and cut it short in righteousness. Revelation 18:1-5.

I'm a former free believer and now a christian. I don't know its just like a miracle that I became a christian.

I'm a free believer before almost an atheist, I always questions christian, I always criticize them, but the just one night of thinking and pondering, something just happen and I became one of them-Christians.

I am a physics student, and as I study it, I can't find reasons that conflict the scripture. It allows me to appreciate God's handiwork instead,

I'm not drawn into religion as I am into God and his love. I feel there is a huge difference in religion and God he has no religion. Don't misunderstand me, I do have a religious preference but because I feel comfortable in that church. Knowing God's love gives me peace of mind and a joy in my heart that is like no other feeling in this world. My parents passed this down to me and I am passing it down to my children. When you leave this world the only true treasure you can leave your children is the gift of faith.

It's the Good Life. I've been on both sides of the fence. I can tell you that I would NEVER go back into sin. The World has nothing to offer me and the LORD has everything I want or need. I've read the back of the book and God wins!! Ü

I was raised catholic. Now that I'm an adult, I realize how wrong religion is, just like belief in santa claus. I've read the bible more carefully than most, and it's repulsive. Here's a link to a short video that points out parts of the bible that aren't usually quoted in church:

http://www.godisimaginary.com/video2.htm

If you watch it (10 minutes), you'll realize the bible was not written by god, it was written by primitive, evil people.

It is the way I was raised by my parents from the very start by getting me involved in the church. This brought about my salvation experience at age 11. I know that from God's promise that I will enter his kindom of heaven. Now, I put God first in everything I do.

WOW!! how surprising that many answerers "grew up Christian" or "were brought up that way"....how very very interesting....if i was going to be a Christian it would be by my own free will, not because i was brought up that way....

cause of the mercy He had upon me. even though i had been the person i was and living in the sin i was living in. He still healed me of a deep depression where i became self injurious and had no hope. He showed His love and compassion on me that day in Feb. 2007 when i finally fell to my knees asking for His help, telling Him i cant do this on my own. no more depression, no more self injurious acts, no more hopelessness, and FULL of His peace!
