2 1/2 months ago I had a miscarriage. All I kept hearing is "it's wtih god". Why would anybody be cold blooded enough to say my baby is with their "god"? The god in the bible is a murderer, liar, and a monster who drowned innocent babies, according to their own book! He even ordered little kids murdered. What makes them think it would comfort me to think my tiny, helpless baby is with that sick, twisted, sadistic monster? Do they really think I should feel any better thinking that their sky daddy killed my baby? How ignorant are they?

Hello everyone. I guess, even if you are not a Christian who is in alcohol of drug recovery, you may still know which Bible I am referring to. I got a very special bible when I was in a half way house, but I think I may have accidentally left it at my parent's house when I moved, and now I want to find a copy of it again, but I cannot seem to find it anywhere. This bible had personal stories of other recovering individuals throughout the books of the bible and it is also commonly used in bible study at the prisons and given to prisoners that request a bible. It is multi- colored swirls on the outside and just says Holy Bible on the cover. Please, if you know the publisher, please give me that information. Thank you so much!

I know for a fact they are not and that Al Queda and the Taliban are hated by all good Muslims, and that I have many friends who have been nothing but kind to anyone and give generous amounts of money to charity. How many people think that Muslims are another word for terrorists? And why do you think you can pass judgment on an entire culture based on a small widly hated group?

If life in the human form is the physical manifistation of energy is the afterlife then the spiritual manifistation of that energy?
Basic physics teaches energy can not be created or destroyed it just is. This is where the question arises.

I stopped going to church about 5 years ago. I was turned off by all the hypocrisy. Most of the 'loyal' church-goers had questionable character, to say the least. Some adulterers, some drug-addicts, some alcoholics....the pastor was married to his kids former nanny, for crying out loud!

So now when I'm invited to church, I politely decline, pray at home and remember Mathew 6:5

Any similar experiences, and what are your thoughts?

What would you do?
Would you keep taking stuff their that you know he does not like?
I took some stuff to an op shop and I heard the person that runs the place say that he is sick of people giving them printers and fax machines and so on.
Don't you think it is rude of him to say this so other people can hear?
He also does not like people who don't go to his church.

Maybe when they crucified him, it was a metaphor for talking smack about him. I've heard a lot of people say that a person is being "crucified" when you really talk bad about em. Whatcha think?

O Prophet! Make war against the unbelievers [all non-Muslims] and the hypocrites and be merciless against them. Their home is hell, an evil refuge indeed." (Koran, 9:73)

I just reason from your answers, not giving an opinion.

It sounds contradictory to me. Couldn´t you guys believe without having to feed a church? You know, having your personal belief in a supreme power without giving so much to an institution that (you said it yourself) would not relinquish power so easily even to a god!
As an atheist I´d have an immense respect for a believer that is willing to search for his/her own version of the big picture.
