In the Bible, God says that "His ways are not our ways." God is much wiser than we are so when he answers your prayer in a way you least expect it, you can trust that he did it that way because it was the best way.

You probably know prayer doesn't work like a soda machine. You don't just get what you want by pressing a button. God sees the entire picture and also knows the future or what the future could be. For example, you might pray for a new car but instead you end up living on a bus route and take the bus to work every day. What you didn't realize was that down the road, something would happen to you financially and suddenly you can't afford your car payment. God saved your butt and kept you from going through the pain of repossession.

Sometimes you won't see the reason for a long time. Sometimes you'll never know the answer. But you can always be assured that God is on your side. He's got your back. You may not like the answer but he does answer every time.
