I believe that from the observence of the universe we will be lead to all knowledge, including past religion, and future science.
With religion there is only a basic understanding of God, but with science there is an advanced understanding.
Since the universe is just massive energy interacting, why not just call it God?

I will add an important detail if any one answers with a speific answer I am looking for.

Both Prince Charles and Princess Diana publically admitted to committing adultery. Does that Bible verse mean that our beloved Lady Di is toasting her fair English skin in eternal fire? Please know that though I am asking a question, I am neutral about the answer.

i can only describe them : a man made them by typing otu books in the bible and they form gorgeous heavenly pictures of Jesus and angels and they were in a hotel at the bottom of the arrowhead on a mountain or foothill in San bernardino on church grounds.

Any explanations in the Bible as to why he created us in the first place? Did he create us realizing we would be sinners and the only way to be saved is by him? Sounds pretty evil doesn't it? Power hungry? Is He obsessed with Glory?

How many of you follow the rede? As in, "If dost harm none, do what thou whilt." As a Celtic Pagan myself I was wondering how many others follow this. I personally don't although I will defend any Pagan/ Wiccan that does. I have no problem visiting violence on those that would do us harm.

We humans cannot help but sense the chasm that exists between what we are and what we should be---the suspicion that we are being judged by a standard higher than ourselves weighs heavily upon our consciences. Jesus is the answer to that universal phenomenon.

Morality apart from Christ yields an unacceptable ethic. Culture, Intuition, Science and Philosophy have all failed in producing moral order in the society.

To know Christ is to know life eternal, to live life at its best-to have within us "wells of living water" that alone can quench our desire for "MORALITY".

Christians like to say, "Isn't it better to believe and be saved then not to believe and go to hell? Even if I'm wrong I don't lose anything"

Doesn't this imply that Christians only believe in Jesus because they're expecting something in return?

*As a side-note, yes you do lose A LOT of things being a Xtian!
1. All those hours you spend praying
2. All those hours you spend in church
3. All that sponsored money you've put in those priests retirement fund
and etc etc

Why are we so scientifically illiterate, ignorant of others views, arrogant and ill informed..?

Why are we so bigoted and judgemental, yet are so insular, in denial and mostly in America..?

Why are we a threat to peace on Earth, and we judge others based on our ficticious beliefs, and yet are so often exposed as complete hypocrites..?

Why do we stifle young minds with force fed doctrines and fanciful religious rhetoric, and deny them the natural gift of a questioning mind, which are seeking access to naturaistic, real and verifiable mainstream scientific answers to their questions.?

Isn't this clearly a form of child abuse..?

If it weren't for our willful ignorance, gullibility, denial, scientific illiteracy and sheer arrogance, would we have too much trouble sleeping at night, or does our concience get diluted amongst our religiously inspired ignorance..?

Thankyou..

God is everywhere, helping Moses, helping Noah, destroying unfit cities, testing man, the list goes on.

I thought God gave us free will? So why did he help those in Biblical times? Is this not clearly against free will, helping the Israelites escape Egypt for example. He doesn't help citizens escape the terrors of dictators today or in the past, why should he help them exclusively?

What happened to free will?

Leviticus 20:13 "If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them."

I know no Christians would condone this today, but why did it used to be okay in the time of the Old Testament?

I am a Prodestent I think. I believe in GOD, Jesus and Mary as Jesus' mother. I have a conflict believing any woman could conceive a child without another man, but that is NOT my question.

I like some things I have seen of the Catholic faith. They are full of pageantry strict order of doing things and I have a few questions.

1) Do Catholics worship GOD?
2) What is the point of "Confession" when one can confess to GOD in prayer?
3) What is a "Hail Mary" and what does one do when confessing to a priest when he tells you that you have to do something, and what is that?
4) Am I allowed into a Catholic church as a non-Catholic?
5) Can I go into the Confessional booth as a non-Catholic and if so, be absolved of my sins as if I were Catholic?
6) What do you see as an advantage of being either Catholic or not and why?

There is a saying - As you sow, so shall you reap. A man is supposed to have the good or bad results for the right and wrong deeds done by him.

I have known a man for the last 14 years, who always keeps insulting others. He abuses and harasses others for none of their fault but I have not seen any bad results on him. He and his family is flourishing.

Could you explain the reason behind it? Are some persons exceptions of the universal rule of deeds and results? How would you explain it?

Between the 3 main religions, Christianity, Judiasm, and Islam, the Roman Catholic demonination of Christianity is the only one that doesn't allow its clergy to marry as well as female priests.

I suspect the motive is not at all religious and that it comes from a strict business perspective. My take on it as that if the priest is not married and has no children then he has no heirs to take over anything and all of the assets he has goes to the diocese. The issuw with female priests comes from the negative portrayal of women in church history and also for the fact that they do not want their priests having a "family life".

Anyone else agree?

When I asked christian why they cry when someone they believe is going to heaven dies, they responded with "we will miss them". That is about the best they could come up with.

So new question:

Do you cry the same when someone moves and you won't see them for a while as you do when you will never ever see that person again?

Some people seem to hold the exact text and the status of the bible as infallible in highest regard, more so it seems than seeking god. Seems a bit like making the bible an idol.
