Why are we so scientifically illiterate, ignorant of others views, arrogant and ill informed..?
Why are we so bigoted and judgemental, yet are so insular, in denial and mostly in America..?
Why are we a threat to peace on Earth, and we judge others based on our ficticious beliefs, and yet are so often exposed as complete hypocrites..?
Why do we stifle young minds with force fed doctrines and fanciful religious rhetoric, and deny them the natural gift of a questioning mind, which are seeking access to naturaistic, real and verifiable mainstream scientific answers to their questions.?
Isn't this clearly a form of child abuse..?
If it weren't for our willful ignorance, gullibility, denial, scientific illiteracy and sheer arrogance, would we have too much trouble sleeping at night, or does our concience get diluted amongst our religiously inspired ignorance..?
Thankyou..

Wow the fishing's good today, and so many dishonest and decietful answers, but this one belowfrom "kerry k" is a doozy..:
"A lot of mainstream science upholds the view of the Bible, and ridicules common scientific answers as being unsubstantiated. "
So let me get this straight, you say that mainstream science shows that mainstream science is wrong, but it also shows that the bible is true...
Oooo kay... [rolls eyes..]
Kerry k, you sir, are a liar and a fraud..!

Supratuner9, it's typical of the scientifically illiterate christian/creationist mindset to quote, or misquote, outdated science in order to dishonestly tear it down with infantile analogies and arguments. You are no different.
What you fail to recognise is that Newtons laws of gravity are flawed, and it was an atheist Albert Einstein who developed the more accurate "special" and "general" theories of relativity..
Embrace the ignorance and denial if you choose to Supra, it's your choice..

Your premise is based on your own ignorance and presupposition.
Being bigoted is not such a bad thing, especially when by definition, everyone is bigoted. Judging others is rather harsh. Knowing what is true as per the Bible, and sticking to it doesn't make a person judgmental. Christians are no more a threat to world peace than anyone else. If there is a threat, it is found in radical Islam for starters, and ignorance for a finisher. Doctrines of the church are taught for the best welfare of the child. If this is true of Christians that such is a form of child abuse, then the same holds true for ALL other religions. Are you as willing to condemn Islam for teaching their children their doctrine? If not, isn't that being hypocritical? In respect to the charge of scientific illiteracy, it is very obvious that you really do not know what you are talking about. A lot of mainstream science upholds the view of the Bible, and ridicules common scientific answers as being unsubstantiated. I believe that you really need to go back and take another true look at the premises that you offer. Your research and conclusions leave out a lot of knowledge that you are either unaware of, or in hypocrisy, refuse to accept.

You're cute.
Are you "scientifically illiterate, ignorant of others views, arrogant and ill informed"??
That is very sad. Just because you are a Christian doesn't mean that you can't read a book, or go to school...why don't you?
Are you "bigoted and judgmental, yet so insular, in denial, and mostly in America"?
For goodness sake, man, the God we both worship made all people...where do you get off calling yourself by His name and being a bigot? Our God will judge us both, who are you to judge anyone else? As far as being insular or in denial, I think you ought to talk to God about these things. And your remark about being "mostly in America" just doesn't make sense.
You need to read your Bible. Concentrate on the four Gospels...learn Who Jesus is, and what He is all about. He can help you!
My God, man! Are you a "threat to Peace on Earth"?? Well, I'll give you this, anyway...you don't think any small cookies of yourself, do you? I would suggest therapy, immediately, before you hurt someone!
And for Heaven's sake, get rid of your "fictitious beliefs"!! Come back to Jesus!! He loves you still, and will welcome you home, I promise!! And again, don't go "judging others", especially not till you get your beliefs straight! If you are doing that, it is no wonder you are being "exposed as a complete hypocrite"!
I do hope you aren't "force feeding" these doctrines of yours, for you would surely be "stifling young minds". One thing you CANNOT do is deny a young, seeking mind the natural gift of seeking answers to their questions. As a Christian, I am sure you understand that young minds sometimes have questions that simply cannot be answered with "naturalistic, real and verifiable mainstream scientific answers"...it would be a clear form of child abuse to try to close these beautiful young minds from seeking spiritual answers to their questions. As Christians, it is our job to help them to understand the difference between what is physical and what is spiritual.
I'd say that your willful ignorance, your gullibility, your denial, your scientific illiteracy, and your sheer ignorance may very well be the reason why you have too much trouble sleeping at night...then, too, it could be that you are taking the Name of the Lord in vain. The very fact that you dare to call yourself a Christian is pure evidence of your religious ignorance.
You'rewelcome.

Never thought I would live to see the day that a christian thinks his/her beliefs are fictitious. I am not a believer but I have no problems with any religion. Most have great morals, codes, and laws to live by. The problems arise when people start taking the messages litteraly and twisting them to their liking. If peeople could just believe what they want and let others believe what they want, the world would be a much better place.
Wow, I'm reading some of these responses and I'm amazed. I have talked to a priest in Minneapolis while researching for an article, he openly admitted about questioning his faith, are you to tell him that he is not a christian. Give this guy a break and quit being so judgemental.

Fellow Christians? For one true belief in God does not hamper or have a conflict with science in any way. God has a much more advanced knowledge than we do and there are still many laws of that nature that we have not yet discovered. The more advanced science gets the more evident it is that life and all that pertains to it could never be a accident.

funny. you say so much and so little at the same time, you are showing you dont truely believe and at the same time not giving any footholds for a counter-argument. so ill try my best.
Scientific illiteracy: No, Isaac Newton was a devout believer and his invention of the infinitesimal calculus and a new theory of light and color, Newton transformed the structure of physical science with his three laws of motion and the law of universal gravitation.
http://www.clas.ufl.edu/users/rhatch/pages/01-Courses/current-courses/08sr-newton.htm
and all this was some hundred years ago.
Bigoted and judgemental: well thats all perspective. as Americans (and most of the world) we thought 9/11 was a horrific, evil event. most everyone saw video of the terrorists, they were praising Allah. see thats 2 different views and I know that I dont support the terrorist and im sure not going to "tolerate" their views.im fairly sure you wouldnt either.
ooh ficticious beliefs, that seals that you arent a Christain.
im pretty sure that everyone indoctrinates their kids, atheists especially. my friend was actually made fun of my his mom for asking what its like to go to church. and we stifle questioning minds? i dont think you can keep a kids mind still no matter what you do to him.

You need to find something else to do besides ask questions like this. Your sarcasm is noted and posted on here, but let me ask you a question?
How can you be so closed minded not to accept that God may exist?
Perhaps the Christian faith is based upon faith and not scientific evidence, think about that.
Some people that ask questions like this should ask themselves if they are not the one who is ignorant, (and I don't mean ignorant in a derogatory way) but someone who is uninformed about the things they speak of.
When someone preaches atheism and close minded thinking aren't they the one who is truly intolerant of Christians and therefore wrong in this whole train of thought.

those that chosen to answer questions utilising foul language and hateful feedback while having a communicate with somebody else, rather a non believer, has completed no longer something positioned substantiate the sentiments of those that dislike us any way. this is a tragic remark on all of Christianity. a number of those people who call them selves Christians ought to truly try analyzing the Bible quite of a number of those books by using celebrity preachers. by using the way i'm a Preacher, Evangelist and author.

I think the answer is: We are not. Any time a generalization is made from a particular then if any example of an exception proves the statement wrong. In your case statements.
In other words an example of an exception can be found for every premise that you make, so therefore all the statements are incorrect and all your premises are wrong.

Speak for yourself, buddy.
I don't know how you can address "fellow Christians" with such a scathing hit piece. It sounds to me like you are ignorant of other views, bigoted and ill-informed. Your attack doesn't even remotely apply to all the Christians in the United States, and they only make up 12% of the Christian population world-wide.

No the Bible says in the last day the church and the whole world will be deceived, you just described the symptoms of an apostate church, just like the bible tells us will be, the devil is the prince of this world and he has lulled us to sleep, he who has ears let him hear, but they would not listen!
