Well, some used some metaphors and vague generalities.

But the A-typical Atheist also doesn't believe in Aliens, Area 51, the The New Mexico conspiracy, the Kennedy assisnation conspiracy, the 9-11 Conspiracy put forth by Alex Jones and his people, the Aether theory (see string theory below, which is just a re-working of the Aether theory).

Many, not all, do tend to believe in things such as String Theory. That's were you, I and everything else is made up of invisible one-dimensional vibrating strings.

You see they have their "Gods" and scientists are included in that.

Scientists say this is no Aether but might be strings, so many, not all, go along with this becuase the PH D has spoken with math to back them up.

When push comes to shove they have their own "dellusionary" beliefs, but because the great God Dawkins says those things might be real, they go along with them.

Not all, just some.

The biggest dellusion is man came from Chimps and even mainstream science is having second thoughts on that issue. When science abandons it, so with most Atheists.

You see, many, not all, follow the "party line."

Religiously.

Every Athiest has a different outlook on this. Some don't actually "believe" in anything, some do.

Personally? I believe in mankind's ability to do remarkable things. I believe, in the long run, we try to help eachother.

While I don't believe in God myself, I am not a subcriber to the idea that Athiests and Thiests should argue over the existance of a higher power, and should focus on solving our social problems. Thiests should realize that Athiests don't believe in all of their rules as perscribed by their holy books, and Athiests should realize that many of those rules actually serve a pretty good purpose.

Unfortunately, there are those on both sides that would have us fighting eachother instead of working together.

I am starting to consider myself a spiritual atheist. That is, I believe there might be some spiritual aspect to the human mind (even though I'm not sure what it is or how it works), but I don't have any reason to believe there is an anthropomorphic creator God in charge of the universe, a deity that answers prayers, solves our problems, and wants to be friends with humans.

Aura Dawn needs to speak for herself, I do believe in ghosts, but I also believe in the power of friendship and family. I believe in common sense, logic but yet in aliens as well. I guess you could say that I'm a complicated atheist.

I believe in Ghosts I'm very interested in the paranormal. Only because I have experienced the stuff myself.
I have been attacked by evil spirits in the past. I was buying religious items and that is when the attacks started. I threw it all out and guess what happened It all stopped.
I think Evil spirits attack you to push you to religion.
But I have experienced a lot of spirits and they don't bother me any more.

That's the beauty of atheism - there isn't a standard or "set" of beliefs that I or anyone has to follow. The term atheism simply means "no God". The A is to mean "no" and theist is "God".

Some believe in evolution.
Some don't.
It depends on the individual.

I believe in evolution - it's just logical.

atheists don't necessary have to believe in any type of deity. i always think of the tao te ching's mentioning that everything came from something that cannot be named. if it could be named and described so easily, it isn't the eternal that televangelists, et al, pretend they know so well.

my grandmother had heart problems, and she was rushed to the hospital. she said she heard ringing and a long, dark tunnel with a light at the end. she said a voice said "mrs rice", and she answered yes. the voice said it wasn't time for her to go, and she acknowledged such. she woke up on the table.

i've told that story to countless friends who look at their religion/spirituality in a different way. zeus/god/marduk et al are all man-made. it isn't necessary to believe in something another person created for nefarious reasons. like in my religion class, someone said if horses had religion, their deities would look like horses. i don't remember who said that (wish i could though).

so, not believing in the god who sits with the wooly hair and all that stuff doesn't mean someone is bereft of belief in anything. spiritual people are quite away of that. religion is ritual; i brush my teeth daily, but it doesn't make me a better person. when the overly religious become spiritual, maybe something will click for them. they can quit acting like something is wrong with folks who don't follow goat chasing patriarchal claptrap. hope that helps.

by the way, i suggest you read merlin stone's "when god was a woman". i read it in grad school, and it was enlightening. you might also read elaine pagels' "adam, eve and the serpent".

Atheists do not believe in religion or any gods or supernatural beings like angels, devils, demons or ghosts. We don't believe in an immortal soul or an afterlife. We believe in logic, common sense, reality, facts, evidence and science.

atheist

The word atheist, a-theos, means no god. Atheists choose to believe there is no god.

BTW, I am not an atheist, but couldn't resist the question.
