These things seem to worry Moslems particularly. An Australian Imam recently likened girls " immodestly dressed" as naked meat tempting the flies (men) to rape them. In England in the 19thC there was a strong Christian movement to have cattle etc visible in roadside fields wear clothes over their nether regions. So, is the offense in the presumed Creator, or in the observer?

I usually view the R&S section of yahoo! answers at least once a day. And instead of finding people that try to help one another, I find people that try to divide and separate. Why can't everyone play nice on here? Is it honestly that difficult to say something nice or nothing at all? So, who else is tired of the bickering, fighting and name-calling? Most of us on this section are here simply to try and enlighten ourselves, religiously or spiritually, so please have a bit of respect FOR EVERYONE.

I went from being a Christian to being an atheist. I was ridiculed, asked, "Why would you want to do THAT?," and beyond all alse, considered a "bad" person, by many Christians.

However, I personally guarantee that, had I gone instead from atheism to Christianity, I would've received applause and words of encouragement from these same people.

How is this fair? I believe I deserve the same kindness shown to newly converted Christians. Shouldn't I, and anyone else, be respected for my religious beliefs?

why dont evangelicals turn against adultery and murder and disregard for the poor, instead of spending all their political cloud over gays.

(FORGIVE MY MISS-SPELLINGS...)
How a Hindu attacked them about religion?
Or a Buddihst?
It seems to be that Christians mainly are the ones attacking people for no reason. I met a Hindu, told him I was Atheist, He did not say anything but, "Thats cool. :)"
Now, I have told MANY MANY MANY MANY MANY MANY Christians this and all I get are: "Your going to burn in Hell!"
And insults and mean slurs!

Why are you so mean?

Dont you ever think to yourself: "Gee some people in my religion are flipping insane!"?

If God Created Adam and Eve and spoke to them and their Children after they were created, and they knew that he was their God and creator, (for the Old Testament tells us that God spoke to them and vice versa), why are there so many conflicting beliefs and religions of God today?

*think they know it all* wise acting christians that think they can disprove evolution by showing an archeopteryx . which actually helps explain evolution.

or the ones who spread internet lies... we've all seen the websites. the ones that 'explain' to you why dna can't mutate or how the fossils were made during noahs flood and also that is how pangea broke up.

or those really ignorant people who say evolution is just monkehs having buttsecks, and making a human. i really get pissed at how ignorant that is.

"I... am not a monkeh!"

"evolution is just a BS idea from satan saying that a buncha monkehs had buttsecks to make me!"

Were the teachings of Jesus Christ that unlike Taoism?

Christian theology interprets (from the Bible) that Jesus is God. Jesus, in his own words, never really says that he is God, not directly. The verses in which he does Refer to himself as God can be interpreted many different ways but they do imply that he is in someway connected to God. God's nature being unclear other than a "Supreme Being", what was the relationship between God and Jesus? The New Testament suggests that Jesus may have been directly communicating with a "Supernatural Force" that sustains and is within all of the Universe. It also suggests that this Force (God) in some way revealed itself to Jesus so that Jesus could teach the path of harmony/salvation.

To the atheists: Why do you constantly post questions and answers centered around statements along the lines of "there is no God you're an idiot for believing in one?"

To the christians: Why do you go to the atheists and post statements saying things like "You are a horrible hell bent sinner for not believing as I do?"

My point is this: People come to this section of Yahoo Answers in order to find spiritual truth. Both of us (Christians and Atheists) obviously have different ideas about what that truth is. But instead of actually helping the person who asked the question find his answer and helping him grow spiritually, we feel the need to attack each other for believing differently. Why can't we both just give the person our views and beliefs and leave each other alone?

I'm a devout Christian: I believe Christ died to pay for my sins so that I don't have to and I can get into heaven, but God never gave me a license to condemn people to hell: He never gave any of us that license.

What makes christian FUNDEMENTALISTS any different from the Westboro Baptist Church? They're the gang that have the websites godhatesamerica.com and godhatesfags.com

You know, they picket dead soldiers funerals. Not a nice bunch really, I think we can agree...

Anyway. My point is that they use Bible scripture very well. They know the bible inside out. They are actually intelligent people and can't be dismissed buy just saying that they're stupid, they're not. Crazy, yes, stupid, no.

Anyway, as I was saying, they use the bible and quote the bible to justify their hate. The name out the passages. What makes you any different from them?

Let's face it, the main problem with churches gaining converts, and the equivalent money in the plate that religion is REALLY about, is the fact that any moron who made it through one sunday school class is free to run off at the mouth preaching--these people are so dumb the couldn't sell their soul to Satan if he was a motivated buyer, let alone sell the church to a functional adult. Wouldn't it behoove the church to make these people pass a class, so that they have a clue what they're talking about, before giving them the license to preach?

According to History a group of Deists and Freemasons built the foundations for the United States. They formed our Bill of Rights and later the Constitution and many Masonic references are on our money and in government buildings not just in Washington DC but all over the country. So why do I keep hearing some politicians and religious leaders say that we are a Christian nation when in fact we originally left England because of religious oppression and decided to never force a specific religion on our people. I am confused as to when we all of the sudden became labeled a Christian nation. Why have we become so intolerant of other religions in the U.S.?

I have a theory that the adam and eve creation story was God's simple way of explaining the complicated process to the people of that time. He needed a way to tell the people that had no concept of science a story that they would understand.

So i believe in both evolution and the bible

Here is a verse from the Bible; Titus 1:12-13

"One of themselves, a prophet of their own, said, "Cretans are ALWAYS liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons."

So let's see here. A Cretin, meaning "an inhabitant of the island of Crete" is saying that Cretins are ALWAYS liars. However, this is basically that infamous brainteaser, because if Cretins are always liars, then THIS Cretin is lying when he says that they are all liars! Therefore, this is false.

"This testimony is TRUE. For this cause reprove them severely that they may be sound in the faith."

If Paul is correct, then this Cretin is honest, by saying that Cretins ALWAYS lie. That means that in fact, if this statement is true Cretins DO NOT always lie, because this Cretin is telling the true about Cretins always lying! Paul says that this statement is true; that Cretins always lie, but this one tells the truth. Therefore Paul is wrong, which means that the Bible, in this case is wrong. So it can't be perfect.

So, any takers?

I was reading the bible and I found this.......

Mark 11:1-3

(1)As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage and Bethany at the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two of his disciples, (2)saying to them, "Go to the village ahead of you, and just as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here. (3)If anyone asks you, 'Why are you doing this?' tell him, 'The Lord needs it and will send it back here shortly.' "

Just give me on reason that GOD (the all powerful) needs a colt !!!!!!!!!!

Dose it make any sense that jesus said to his disciples not to tell anyone why they are going to take the colt unless they ask??!!

and what would be the answer ?? God needs it..
this is stealing right??

God ..... needs a colt ....! ha ha ha

Why the 'missing link'. Dinosaurs existed long before these animals were meant to have existed. Why can't you find the bones of all these evolved animals? The bones should be everywhere across all species, not a few fakes.
