Let's face it, the main problem with churches gaining converts, and the equivalent money in the plate that religion is REALLY about, is the fact that any moron who made it through one sunday school class is free to run off at the mouth preaching--these people are so dumb the couldn't sell their soul to Satan if he was a motivated buyer, let alone sell the church to a functional adult. Wouldn't it behoove the church to make these people pass a class, so that they have a clue what they're talking about, before giving them the license to preach?

Yeah lets regulate it.
I think Yahoo should add a new category of abuse. Reported for preaching.
Do you feel abused by those Christians and Muslims who start preaching and don't ask a question but cut and paste long passages from the Bible or the Quran.

Classes would be a great idea, but then again..... It would be dangerous for the churches, because it would lead to more questions, and they could end up studying themselves right out of the church so to speak.
Some of us know that certain lines of questioning are not acceptable in any religion founded by man made dogmas.

Your question goes from newbies that speak their faith to licensed to preach. I really do agree with you at least in part !!! It is the fresh testimony of a new convert that can change the heart of another !!! But when they are called upon to give belief details there gets to be a problem. But it is better to let the Holy Spirit loose that trying to harness the christian newbies !!!

I agree with you about the problem of proselytizing without knowledge, but I disagree with your solution. You don't need a license, to exercise a freedom spelled out specifically in the Bill of Rights.

I agree. They make the Christian religion look stupid. They turn people away, not towards. Most of the main line churches, like the RC, Anglican, Lutheran, Methodist do have educated clergy. And it shows.

lol. I love your line about selling their soul to Satan. Did you know that dyslexic Satan worshipers sell their souls to Santa?

But, with such un-Christlike hate coming from the alter; I am not sure the church or world would be much better off.

As long as Christians still have the same freedom of speech as anyone else (and that may not be for much longer), you may expect to hear preaching.
You have the freedom to walk away.
As far as I know, nobody is trying to take your freedom away...
