28And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him,[j] who[k] have been called according to his purpose. 29For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.

This verse from Romans seems to indicate that some folks are not called by God to be part of his purpose. Is this why it's easy for some of us to believe in God, and why others have such difficulty? They were not predestined to "be conformed to the likeness of his Son." Or to believe in him?

Don't jump to conclusions on what my position is on this. Just tell me what you think.

Vesrses taken from the Book of Romans, 8th chapter. New International Version

And no, bible has not mentioned it. It only stated that Adam was the first human but there were probably monkeys around before Adam was there.

is whatever lesson you need to learn really worth the cost of some little child being brutalized and murdered? Wouldn't you really rather just god keep that lesson to himself and let this child live instead?
Honestly, the whole thing is a sick idea.

Wouldn't he know in advance that he was not going to follow his first idea?

What will stop him from changing his mind again later? Isn't a God who is so malleable actually just being fickle?

What if God help you get a job, but it meant another member of your faith had to wait longer, even though both of you were praying for the job? So your prayer was answered: Yippee! But what if instead God listened to the first guy's prayers and allowed him to get the job while you cooled your heels for another several months. Aren't most prayers based on a zero-sum game, where if you get what you wanted, someone else is getting the shaft?

Thanks for considering this.

in God?
You don't have to ridicule our beliefs, be condescending and assume that just because we have faith, we're somehow idiots and less intelligent that you. We don't care if you chose not to enrich your lives and accept Jesus as your savior, that's your problem that you're going to have to deal with when you meet with your Maker.
So you ask us to "leave you alone", fine! Return the favor then!

And you call US "hypocrites"!.....

how do we know hes real?
how can god be real when science is proving how we came to be? we evolved from the ocean and scientists proved that so how could there be an adam and eve if we started out as FISH!?
and god grants us eternal life right? well just how long is eternity? forever and ever and ever... really... we die and we live again as an orb or light somwhere we dont even know is real? heaven? how can we believe that? we have no proof! cause it cant be somwhere in the universe or a different dimension cause WE WOULDNT KNOW NEWAYS CAUSE WE HAVE NO BRAIN OF BODY!
and the bible, somone could have just sat in a cave and wrote that and jesus could just have been one of the early magicians and planned out all his stuff...
and why do we worship somthing we barely know about?
science has the big boom theory so thats how the universe was created supposedly... somthing had to cause that but how? we have barely any proof of GOD... Jesus we do but God... i just dont see it, help!!

You know, just kind of an unofficial visit.
God might say "Hey Mark. How's it going?"
Mark: "well, god...I'm sorta on fire right now. Have been for the past 300,000,000 years".
God: *chuckle* oh yeah, forgot about that. Well, you did decide to become a buddhist, so you were just asking for me to torture you. See ya around".

I am no better than any one in fact in some way I may have been worse then most. I am a Fundamental Christian. I believe that the word of God as written in the orginal languages is true. I have look at many other religions before becoming saved. I once attacked Christians for the thing they believed. I thought you need to lose your mind to believe the bible, But after trying to discredit I came to believe it was true. Jesus was the son of God. I look at Paul and Peter in my study to find some thing I could use to discredit the bible. I look at other non Christian writings Hermetities, and Josephis. I look at the skeptic view piont and those thing they say are wrong. I look to science and evolution only find more questions. The Big Bang don't answer any thing and I did not come from a fish. I saw a big hole in the fossil record where the missing link should be by the millions. I know Jesus is alive. Rome had a reward for his body in the 1st century and never fond it.

I am posing a question to knowledgeable Bible-believing Christians. Is the New King James Version of the Bible an accurate translation? Or should we stick with the King James Version?

I've been hearing they are at 12 Million members worldwide for about 10 years now. I've also seen statistics (non-lds ones) that show the number of members leaving - it's staggering. But since the LDS church still includes "ex Mormons" in its membership numbers, it's hard to get a real perspective on this situation.

Does anybody know the answer here?
