All the hate speech... back and forth, back and forth. Trying to convince people that your right, and so on. Maybe not everyone on here but most it seems like. Weird how times change. Did u do it when you were 10? 15, even? What age did it become important to you.

Religion has been serious business to me since early childhood. I was raised in a religious home. As for the religious bickering, it's pointless. I don't feel that I've got a monopoly on the truth, so I don't bother pretending to convince others that I do. I prefer rational dialogue over thinly veiled attempts at proselytizing.

I played around with religion for about forty years but never felt that anything in my life was different so did not take it to seriously. I don't mean that I expected miracles or anything like that...but I expected that something would change...and frankly it didn't....until about three years ago.
I learned that religion can often be an empty shell. Like most people, I was following a specific religion but had never truly had a personal relationship with God. I don't even know what suddenly made the difference, but one day I felt something pulling me...or calling me...or whatever you want to call it. Today I know that the something was God. I just happened to be in the right place at the right time...and I was able to open my heart to Him and for the first time in my life, I knew for sure that God was there. Things didn't happen overnight but I could almost feel myself changing. Things that had been so very important to me before were suddenly unimportant. I don't know, maybe my age had something to do with it but since that time, every day is a wonderful adventure. I have learned to just let God control things and allow Him to fulfill his purpose in me. I have been greatly blessed by the relationship and even though I believe in a life after physical death, I would be satisfied with only what I can have with God right here on earth if that is all there was. For those who have not yet been blessed with a hand in hand relationship with Him, I know you can't understand....but I have never been more content, more confident and more thankful than I am today.
God Bless...and thank you for letting me tell my story.

The day the hatin started was the day I moved to this town I live in now. I could not believe that people actually despised Catholics. I had never encountered it before. For many years I fell into a depression, and I did not get the burn on until my husband left me because I wanted to baptize my daughter. I felt absolutely horrible. That was 1989. I learned what "the cup of bitterness" is. I learned what "mad enough to spit" meant. And I had to swallow this hatred and still love him?????!!!!!
Man, it was either religion or alcohol. I had two kids to raise, so religion it was. The lesser of two evils. People who are ignorant do not get my hatred. They get something like sideways sarcasm.
*The source of this hatred was other Christians.
