is whatever lesson you need to learn really worth the cost of some little child being brutalized and murdered? Wouldn't you really rather just god keep that lesson to himself and let this child live instead?
Honestly, the whole thing is a sick idea.

P37ry- well, there really aren't may choices...I was giving god the benefit of the doubt for christians sake.
Either he can do something but he won't, (in which case he's unworthy of any worship)
Or, he's powerless to do anything about it (in which case he's barely a god)
Or, he simply doesn't exist.

Michelle, if god sees it, has the power to stop it (which I assume you claim your god would have the power to stop it)and does nothing, then he is *actively* choosing to allow such things to happen. There's simply no way around it. If you see an old lady getting mugged, and you may have the power to stop it, but you choose to walk away instead, then you've most certainly made a pertinent choice. You may not have cause those men to rob the old lady, but by your actions you've most certainly become complicit in their crime.
Hope that helps.

God doesn't let children get murdered. Sick people murder children and god has nothing to do with it. Everyone has to die sometime. If life follows a bell curve, there are gonna have to be children, young children, who die. You can't do anything about it.

God doesnt allow children to be murdered as a lesson. The murder of children is something Man has CHOSEN to do. God would rather the children live. Look at the New Testement, " Jesus said, ' Let the little children come unto me'." The only times in scripture where God has purposely hurt children were during Genesis when He sent the Angel of Death to kill the 1st born son (not all of whom were children) of every Egyptian household, and when He took the children of Job. Every other time the lives of children have been lost it has been because of an act of man. The lesson to be learned from the death of children is that people are inherantly evil, born with a sin nature that no amount of nurturing will ever change. The only thing that saves us is Jesus.

Children are a force to be reckoned with, spiritually. Matthew 18:3 says: "And he said: 'Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.'" It has been noted in discussions about child abuse that a feature of small children is their willingness and eagerness to please. Proverbs does make the qualification that they can go off the rails as well, or at least, people can notice what their behaviour appears to mean about their developing character. Proverbs 20:11 says: "Even small children are known by their actions, so is their conduct really pure and upright?"
I experienced brutality in the name of Christ as a child and I was content when I stayed close to my God. God gives peace beyond all thought. There is no situation that's too much for him, no matter how bad it looks to an observer. He has love to offer. Philippians 4:7 says: "And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
The lesson to be learnt is that this world has nothing to offer. It's all just talk, and even a lot of that is violent and dismissive. Isaiah 57:1, 2 says: "The righteous perish, and no one takes it to heart; the devout are taken away, and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil. Those who walk uprightly enter into peace;
they find rest as they lie in death."

Actually, its not to teach JUST US a lesson, but ALL OF CREATION. That means the Angels, humans and animals. You see, Satan wasn't stupid enough to challenge God and say, I can take you out, he would have lost, easily. No, he challenged GOD'S RIGHT TO RULE! That means that if God had simply wiped him and his angels out of existance (a 1/3rd of which had already went to his side) then what would the rest of thought? Maybe Satan had a point and God doesn't want us to know? Its only by allowing Satan a time to rule and he is now ruling (otherwise, how could HE have offered Christ Jesus the Earth and its Kingdoms IF IT DIDN'T BELONG TO HIM, WITHOUT Christ telling him so?) However, Satan knows he's running out of time and things are getting worse, he's trying to inflict more and more damage to "win" the battle and the war.
You may not aprove of God's methods, however in the future, THE NEXT TIME SOMEONE SAYS, "you don't have the right to rule," He can just wipe them out of existance! After all, we (none of us) would want to go through the last 6,000 years AGAIN! No, we would all understand if God simply took matters into his own hands. In 6,000 years, no government has successfully replaced God as a ruler of men. Yes, we've been through h*ll, but we'll never have to go through it again, EVER.

Can I ask you this, since god allows children to be murdered, Who stated this?
My answer to you is, Man is the Cruelest Creature on the face of the earth, it is man who bears arm against man, it is the Human race who harms each other. God lets us decide what we want to do, and those who kill is what they choose to do, but that does not mean that they will get away with it. On Judgment Day, they will have to answer for what they have done, just like all of us (if you believe)
Man may live in splendor here on earth and may be the BIGGEST Crook here, that is fine and dandy, but when he has to answer on the Day, then payback will ensure
Edit:
Then I will have to state that in this day and time, we are guitly of allowing bad things to happen, killings, rapes, stealing...etc..You see, the reason why I say this is, that our legal system allows those who commit bad things out of jail early cards, and or slaps them on the wrist and sends them on their way. WE DO HAVE THE POWER TO STOP IT also if we choose, but like normal humans, unless it involves us directly, then we don't bother.
God however, Has given us chance after chance. He even sent His Son down here for a second chance. Now in this, all I can say, is that Like God and Your Parents, when you reach a certain age, do your parents hold your hand or do they let you go out into the world to decide for yourself what is right and what is wrong.
I know that it is hard to comprehend why God won't do something when He has the power to do so, but He leaves that choice up to us, to either Punish those who harm others or to allow it to continue, and NO, children are not murder to teach us a lesson, it is a part of SIN (Hope you can understand all this....LOL)
Thanks, Be Blessed to you and yours

Anyone who believes lil children being murdered is God's way of teaching us a lesson is certainly NOT a Christian...

People who blame god for things like murder need to become more realistic.
Yes, its horrible, its awful, its all of those things and more. But god doesn't make them happen. And certainly not so people can learn lessons from them.
btw: I'm not christian

you put too much emphasis on life. I'm not saying that those things aren't terrible, but ultimately its temporary and only one step, one period of time among many. any particular event we would title as unfortunate in such a way, could be thought of to have countless lessons all around in the greater scheme of things.
if you could give permission for yourself to be hit and killed by a drunk driver when you were a child, if you were given certainty that doing so would save or lead to saving many many others from the same fate, perhaps save or lead to saving a bunch of people from ruining their lives abusing alcohol, saving and teaching people related to those people. teach the people who would be the parents and other people who'd be effected by it, about loss and acceptance and faith, and whatnot... who knows what else.
all for a temporary detour on your path of lifetimes...
suddenly it doesn't seem so bad huh?
understanding the fact of Reincarnation in existance allows for a much greater understanding and enlightenment of such events, and brings alot of clarity.

So everything is God's fault? Have you not heard of Satan? Also, when a child is murdered or killed, they are then with God and in a lot better place than we live.

Yes, we all have free will, it's simply a test of faith. Period. And, maybe God has plans of bigger, better things for children murdered or for children born with horrific defects......
