my father left when I was 3, he ran off with my mother's niece, my mother left the church when I was 8 or 9,. i never went to church until I was 18, and it was not my mother church.
I left that Church when I was 20 and never returned until I was 35.
no my parents never chose for me. that was a decision I made all on my own.
to assume that we believe in God because we were brainwashed, just show how uninformed some people are.

My parents started out by choosing this lifestyle for me, but the more I got to live it, the more I came to love it. I now choose to be a saved Christian who chooses her own lifestyle. My parents just help every once in a while... :)

I chose to believe. Have been born again for 6 years now. I honestly can say that without knowing that God forgives me when I screw up and that there is a light at the end of the tunnel so that one day, what is so wrong with this world will be made right, I would not be able to cope. I only hope that I am still around when he come back. God Bless

My parents attend church weekly, and I grew up "in the church", going to church every week, my dad's mom was even the Sunday school superintendent. I went to Sunday School until I was in grade 7, was confirmed, then taught Sunday School... My faith was not a personal faith. When asked if I believed in Jesus, I'd say yes, but only b/c I knew that was the right answer.
In College I moved to being a Diest. Believing that God created the earth and humans and then just left us to ourselves.
Then 4 years ago I became a Christian, Jesus found me.
So, even though my parents brought me up in their faith, It is my own faith journey.

No one can choose Christianity for you. All a person can do is present the gospel to someone in a way that (hopefully) is accepted as the truth that it is. My mother was a Christian all my growing up years. My father was not. All of us kids accepted Christ but none of us were "walking the walk" until my mom died in 1994. She lived long enough to witness my father accepting Christ, as well, and he was instrumental in all of us kids getting up close and personal after she died! God is faithful!

My parents raised me in a Christian home.
I grew up and went to college. learned about evolution and all the flaws in the bible.
I joined the Navy, fell into alcohol and drug use, frequenting strip clubs and viewing pornography.
Left the military, got married. began going to church again.
Felt God's call on my life and repented of my sin and asked him to take charge of my life and to give me a relationship with him through his son Jesus.
Started to read and understand that all the things I'd been told in college wasn't necessarily true.
Finally, I have gained the understanding that my life has purpose and meaning through service to God and by looking to him for understanding and wisdom.
Now I teach Sunday School and serve as a deacon in my church.

I chose it. My parents forbid me from going to church when I grew up. They were mere dabblers of Christianity, and used the Bible in ways that I could see through, even as a kid. Then after leaving home, I threw myself into a fundamentalist Baptist church. I felt right at home there. I was even a member and sang in the choir. But then I began to transition to female and they dropped me as quickly as possible.

as a baby all I can do was to cry and growl as a protest. Like most people these days, I think we are Catholic, or a Christian in general, only in paper. Our parents chose our religion for us, the same way as their parents or their parent's parents chose it for them.
