Kindof the same position, except switch the child and the mother. My mom is Mormon, the missionaries constantly come to the house, she is inactive but is trying to get back into the habit of comming to church(but she works most sundays).

I listen to the missionaries and I am thinking about joining, but for some reason I can't decide if the church is true or not.

Nope! I am a lifetime member.

Some ancestors were pioneers that crossed the plains and settled in So. Utah. My great-grandmother was born in a dugout (cave) since they had just arrived in Utah.

I also have some ancestors that were anti-Mormon and persecuted the Church (Father's dad's side). Grandpa was a convert after he eloped with my grandmother (18 year old So. Utah farm girl). Some things are really fun to find out about when you see an old woman that is always strict.

I am the oldest of 6 kids. One brother is inactive & another brother is active again, I think. I don't get involved with family gossip.

I have 4 kids, 1 son-in-law & 1 grandaughter. One son is totally inactive.

On my husband's side, he has two 2nd cousins that are members but that's it. He was kicked out of the house for a week when he got baptized.

I am fortunate to be in a family where everyone is a member on both sides of my family. My ancestors travelled from England & Scotland to settle in Utah. I have a really cool heritage but I still had to learn for myself that the gospel is true. Everyone has their own path & their own time frame.
All you can do is be a great example to how the gospel is enriching your life & hope (& pray) that those around you will see how it has helped you so they will want to be a part of it.
Being an example is the best missionary tool there is. Live the gospel & those around you will be able to tell. You are an amazing young lady!

My mother and brother have listened to the missionaries, but never have been baptized and havent seen them for like 5 years. 2 years ago after I was married my husband and I investigated and converted together. His mom was baptized at like 12 but she has been inactive since she was 18. So I guess I can say yes

I am the only Mormon in the family. I joined nearly 18 years ago, and when my grandfather died I discovered he had been receiving lectures in 1976 but never joined. Imagine if he had joined, I would be a Mormon from birth.

My brother and sister went to church with me several times but they were too young to join, and my parents did not allow them to join. In the emantime I moved countries and no longer keep track of their spiritual affairs.

I love being Mormon.

Yes, I am...or was....well...I was raised Catholic and when I was 19, I was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of LDS...I was the only one in my family, that I am aware of, that ever became a member...I am now 48, my two daughters, my 5th husband, and my 6 yr old son, who was born in the covenant are all members...but still no one outside my immediate family ever joined....although, since my mom and dad are dead, my daughter stood proxy for my mom to be baptized in the Bountiful temple and my dad will be baptized in the Medford, OR temple soon, and then they will be sealed...I think they will be very happy about that.

Yes. I'm the only member in my family. Mom attends a different church, and while Dad believes in God and Christ, he stopped going to yet a different church than Mom before I was born - maybe before they were married. I still have hope for them, but it may not be until the other side.

For those providing answers, if you're not responding to help Love Yahoo, then save your e-breath.

Anyway, I am not the only member. I was fortunate enough to be baptized along w/my sister and parents all together. My brother was born the year after, so he's a lifelong member. It can be a challenge when you're at it on your own, but your mom is at least respecting your decision to join. Time will tell if she joins, but for now respect each other and pray for the best to happen.

Don't worry. Encourage her, love her, don't push her. To everything there is a season. It's maybe just not her season. My dad isn't a member, but has always encouraged us to attend our meetings, and do what is right. Good things happen for the faithful...but there is also a lot of adversity. Be firm in your faith and you will be greatly blessed. From small and simple things, great things come to pass.

Both my parents and my sister and two brothers are all LDS. My dad was born and raised a Utah Mormon, so his parents and all of their kids are Mormon. I have more than 30 cousins who live in Utah who are Mormon.

However, my mom is the only Mormon in her family, although her dad (my grandpa) has always been interested in the Genealogy, so he's visited before.
