I'm definitely tired of it. I know that I have different religious views than most people in here but I never go around in this section, or anywhere else for that matter, fighting or name calling people who are not like me. I respect everyone's religious or spiritual choice, no matter what it is.
But religion is always a cause for controversy so I guess we might as well get use to it because not every single person in this world is going to agree when it comes to religion.

I am under the impression that most atheist, at leas the ones I know, do not go around trying to make people change there beliefs. The problem comes in when those who do have a passion to change others beliefs fail to recognize others reasonably, and those who do not rarely have the passion to speak up for or against atheism. Therefor, we get the two percent of loudmouthed evangelistic atheists (many of which seem to have posted an answer to this question) and the ninety eight percent reasonable human beings. Of the former category, they are obviously more herd, preaching logical beliefs yet remaining as dogmatically closed minded as the evangelistic religious (who share the problem of the atheist in that a small percent make the rest apear unreasonable) Hence you have this small war between equally faithful, equally close minded individuals giving a bad name to both sides of an unimportant argument. It does not make sense, but we have to relies that some atheist and some religious people carry their beliefs blindly, without the capacity to hear or understand opposing viewpoints. Atheism has become a religion, religion has become a blindness. The atheist preach open mindedness and are close minded, the religious preach love yet viciously attack other view points, and the rest of human kind watches in sad irritation at the false air of importance both sides display in there indefinite battles of witlessness. I wish we could get along, as for me, I love and accept everyone. I can see the wisdom ins all regions, and believe that there is a pure form called spirituality in which I a am free to just love and try to find wisdom. Perhaps I am more evolved than those who argue over nothing and contrition their beliefs, perhaps I am not wise enough to understand there small war, I know that I have the bias for my self that would make me inclined to believe the former. But it is not important. To me, neither side is right because anyone who has the facts and the wisdom involved in an enlightened sort of thinking would not stoop to insolence. Maybe one day we will all just get along.

I've only been playing R&S a coupla weeks; it's the subject that interests me most right now.
I've found Buku amusing comments - some I even agreed with; even found out how some others tick.
At 60, I'm trying to learn not to take myself and this planet too seriously.
Sometimes I think we’re over-run by Theistic 'Tards and far too many variations on The Invisible Sky Critter theme and then a young Atheist or Wiccan will come and shine enough brilliance about to restore my faith in humanity and make me believe we're in safe hands.
I do know that somewhere on the planet there's 'tard with his finger hovering over a button; eyes rolled back in his head; REM happening; saying: tell me when, lord; tell me when.

I have only been on R&S for a short time. But like you I same on here to either answer a question that maybe I knew the answer to og to ask a question that some one else might know. I have found that the only way to not argue is to bypass the questions that are deliberately put there to get an argument going. You will find a lot of rude answers to your question and a lot of name calling and people making fun of you. But there are still some people on here who have ligitemate questions. And they will appreciate your answers. Just look for those and ignore the others. I don't like bickering. either. I don't like that it has to be this way, but I like this forum so that is what I do.

I think questioning each other in this format is healthy, and I don't mind the atheists making fun of Christianity. It helps me understand that there is a diverse group here on R&S. I would like it better if they gave me something challenging to ponder, but maybe soon they will. I also want to understand the Islamists and why they allow the extremist to dictate by force. I also want to understand the extreme Christian and why they feel they have to tithe to themselves to spread the word. I know they tithe to others, but what percentage.
So I guess it depends on what you call religious fighting. Religion is all about ideas and questions. Simple faith and love don't need a question format...faith and love thrive on positive giving action.

I think it would help if those who liked the section started asking some real questions and simply ignored the bad answers/questions.
Let's face it, certain people keep feeding into bickering and arguing and spreading hatred towards others. Many people are here trying to help as much as we can.

Good luck with that! This is like a desert. Hot, no water, long journey and only God knows where this is going. Probably to hell in a hand-basket. It all gets boring after awhile, but will never change. It is a war here. Better here than in the streets, I guess. And it is a waste of time.

If you want spiritual enlightenment, go to the self help section of any book store. This is subject to the whims and moods of the people who spend time here. You are a big cry baby. Grow up. If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen.
If you are tired of it, then don't come here morons.

I have raised the subject,I believe several times. Discussions end up not about the subject, much of the time, but about who can come up with the snarkiest comment, and most belittling. It seems especially odd when you look at what the overall subject matter should be. But look at some of the comments you have already received. It doesn't say much for us does it?
Humorously the question I have in line after this one is one being derrogatory to Christians. Can't please everyone.

In the end, we, ourselves are responsible for our actions, beliefs, etc. When we meet our maker, we are not going to be asked why someone lived the life they did, or believed what they did... We will be asked why WE lived the way we did and believed the way WE did. I do not have to answer
for anyone but myself. Ever heard of "divide and conquer?"
It's a destructive concept. God lets us make our own choices.
We should extend that to our fellow human beings.
