and unbelievably wonderful things have been coming my way. I'm not used to good things happening to me, and as I tell my friends what has transpired since I starting accepting God,I feel like I am being a boastful person, and throwing my good fortune,in folks face,I in NO WAY have intentions of doing that..but I feel like I am.. I have tried 'wearing their shoes',and flipflop each opther.I would be happy for them and the good that's coming their way. They ask how I am, and are things alright.. and I can't HELP but smile ear to ear and tell them it's better than alright!! God gets all the praise for this, from me.
Am I being an insensitive blowhard, telling others how good I have it?
I know everyone is not like me, but it's hard for me to stop telling them of the endless good things God has done!haha.. I just thought of something,
Have I turned in to be what I use to avoid? WOW!!!Oh MY!!

SOME of you seem pretty ticked off at God because of the Old Testament. What about the New Testament?

John 6:44 No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day..............John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

I know there is much diversity in Catholic thought about this and many other subjects. I also know that Catholic priests are highly educated, and many are quite progressive in their views.

Anyway, is The Bible literarlly the word of God to most Catholics, are are most passages seen more as metaphor and God inspired?

Thanks.

The bible is specific on who will go to hell or not. Now, if you end up in hell... will you ever get a second chance? Will there ever be a chance for you to go to heaven?

i don't think there is anything in the bible about this...

It is said that our current calendar (AC calendar) is based on the birth of Jesus Christ. So why the day 01st Jan is not Christmas Eve (birthday of Jesus) but 24th Dec????

you await the rapture?

I understand that according to the Bible we don't go right to Heaven or Hell when we die. We are in a limbo state. What is this state called? What do we do there? Are we aware of our situation? Do we observe people on Earth as we await the rapture?
I would love to know more about this.

i dont kow that much about it, but it seems like they are going to 3rd world countries and forcing christianity to people who have rich tribal beliefs, im not starting a debate but what good does changing thier religious beliefs do to these people? ( i am aware that they also help feed and eduacate, but why not just help them instead of teaching them about jesus when they already have a releigious view)

We were made stewards of this world. We should care about this great responsibility. Do you think we are doing enough?

This is a clip of a guy who actually did that in Salt Lake City, home of LDS. He even dressed up like a Mormon with the white shirt, black pants, push bike and a badge (but the badge said Atheist). Instead of the bible he had the Origin of Species;

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7wOz5a6yns

He rants a bit at the start, but about half way through the clip he starts door knocking. If you’re wondering what the accent is, he’s from Australia, where surprisingly a lot of original ideas come from, given that the population is only about 20 million.

i read things very often of how Christ brings salvation to all christians but flat out hates everyone else who is of different religion. i think people are just gulable. they are willing to believe any sort of BS that promises eternal life and happiness if you follow these guidelines that are set by crazy people who want others to follow something they believe...hints creating the bible. for all of this i just cant believe how captivated christians are. it really bothers me to see people wasting their lives on false idols while belittling everyone else who doesn't believe what they do all because of a stupid book. as you can oviously tell i am an athiest. i think god is a joke and the bible as well. i think if people just take the time to really consider the bibles words, they would realize its complete BS! heck, i realized this when i was about 13.
I just want to know what others think of this.

I WILL CAST TERROR INTO THE HEARTS OF THOSE WHO DISBELIEVE. THEREFORE STRIKE OFF THEIR HEADS AND STRIKE OFF EVERY FINGERTIP OF THEM. THIS IS BECAUSE THEY ACTED ADVERSELY TO ALLAH AND HIS MESSENGER; AND WHOEVER ACTS ADVERSELY TO ALLAH AND HIS MESSENGER - THEN SURELY ALLAH IS SEVERE IN REQUITING (EVIL). THIS - TASTE IT, AND (KNOW) THAT FOR THE UNBELIEVERS IS THE PUNISHMENT OF FIRE.
~Koran 8: 12

Hello, I'm the ignorant Canadian, and I was wondering if someone could interpret this verse for me.

I'm a christian (apparently one to be punished); is Allah going to come and kill me or what... This verse supports the whole terrorist thing... Was the Koran secretly written by Americans to appease the people during the war on terror...

Isn't it pointless to ask that? You get two chances to choose the section, it's obviously intended. Shouldn't you just answer the question (with an appropriate answer) or not answer at all?

Answering 'why is this in the religion section?' would be in violation of yahoo's guidelines, actually. *gasp*

Tonight a family of 6, The mother, an 18 year old boy, 17 year old, a 13 9 and 5 year old girls are stepping off an airplain into Grand Rapids MI. They are from a refugee camp in Rwolanda (French I believe) with nothing. They have no clothes, or any personal belongings. Our church is sponcering them and we got them a fully furnished house (temporary for 2 months) and all of the extras. They have "toasters, crock pots, can openers, dishwasher", and so on. They have never seen these things and don't know how to use them. I will be going in to teach them what to do, but they don't speak English and I don't speak French.

All lables for food like "rice, beans, tomatoes, flour, salt and pepper" will be in English.

Can someone please name the "item" and type the following message for me so I can introduce myself and we can relabel items?

"Hi My name is Gwynn, I am from Vineyard North Church, I am here to help you".
