Isn't it pointless to ask that? You get two chances to choose the section, it's obviously intended. Shouldn't you just answer the question (with an appropriate answer) or not answer at all?

Answering 'why is this in the religion section?' would be in violation of yahoo's guidelines, actually. *gasp*

I sometimes comment on a thing being in the wrong section, but then I answer it anyway. But I don't see the harm. Sometimes I choose to assume they meant to put it here, even if they did not pay attention and actually put it here by accident. Then I answer the question in the context of its spiritual significance. For example, one guy asked what courses he should take for a pre-med program, and I answered that he should include ethics, since doctors are confronted with many heavy ethical questions in the course of their work.

Yep, avoiding the question might also show exasperation in the answer. Don't worry about it. Many people here try to answer honestly and spend time giving an appropriate response.

maybe because they want to give the religious people in that section some respect and not set there with them

some people ask useless questions just as some people waste their time valueing material things that do not matter as much as friendship, spirituatliy and love in this life

usually people ask this, if it's a dumb question... or something that has nothing to do with the section.
