It is the conception of a child between two people who should no longer be able to conceive children. What is the Immaculate Conception? It is an even more incredible miracle. Mary, the special woman who is going to give birth to Jesus, is conceived in Her mother’s womb without the stain of Original Sin.

How do we inherit Original Sin — the sin of Adam and Eve who disobeyed the Lord? We get it through our parents’ DNA! It's in our blood! And Original Sin is nothing more than the disobedient nature of mankind (Romans 5:19). We have been given free will and we can choose to do things we know God does not like or want us to do.
The Scriptures — the consistent original Scriptures — are very clear as to what God’s Strength said to Mary: “HAIL, FULL OF GRACE, THE LORD IS WITH THEE!”

W e ARE NOT full of God’s grace. We are sinners. But if you were full of God’s grace, what does that mean? Does that mean you have sin in you? Continue

From many posts, mostly young creationists, I read that they consider the earth to be around 6000 years old. Yet, I cant seem to find it in the bible. Does anyone know who did the calculations to come up with that age?

My friend said that that after earning his Master Mormon Mitt Romney went on to his 33rd or 32nd degree Mormon. Is there such thing as this? I can't find it on the LDS web site. This is kinda frustrating me. Any help would be great!

KJV 1 Timothy 3:16

"And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory."

The Textus Receptus Manuscript from which it was taken contained the Greek word for God. The Gnostics had removed “qeos” (Theos-God) which is a noun and changed it to “Ος” (Hos-He), which is a pronoun. This is a glaring attack upon the Lord Jesus Christ by removing the fact that He was and is God, and specifically as God being the Savior. (Isa 43:11 KJV) I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour. If Christ, as God, did not die upon that cross for His children, then we are still in our sins. For no mere man can die for another and have their sins removed, for who will remove the sins of the one sacrificing himself? Sinner cannot redeem sinner!

What does your version say?

What I mean is athiesm. How can someone believe in the universe exploding out of nothing without some higher power? How do they believe that life is nothing but a chain of chemicals formed in oceans? How do they make it seem so simple?

I find it more comfortable knowing that I'm going somewhere when i die, instead of thinking death is the end.

"God rules as a father heads a family and not as a dictator rules a dominion. God is limited by the laws of fatherhood. There are some things a father cannot do. God, like any good father, cannot regiment his children, for enforced regimentation makes slave minds and not free characters. God, like any god father, cannot lead his children away from evil as a householder keeps her dog away from the dangers of traffic, for God is raising sons, not dogs. God, like any good father, breaks his heart when his children go wrong, but he cannot breaks the rules of fatherhood by chaining them up to keep them from going wrong. If God interfered with man's right of free choice, he would cease to be a father and become a dictator. Why does God allow war and man's inhumanity to man? Because as our heavenly father, he has to leave us free."-This is from a book from Ralph W. Sockman. I was wondering what you think of this passage?

Everything (even the spiritual obey the law of cause and effect) So how can God judge an action which is the only possible result of something else. All behavior is 'caused' by conditioning or is inate. I can't will not to sin if I dont know its a sin , I'm not aware I'm doing it, or I'm too weak to stop it. Which applies to all actions. Even if one person has more or less of a concience then someone else, that's 'caused' by something. If some people are evil then something had to make them evil because God didnt make them that way did he? If he did how can he judge? If they chose evil then what 'caused' them to chose evil? It had to be conditioning or inate, so then how can God judge?

like a snake...wow ! adam had a real big thing if it was called a snake.
then in paradise god created man and woman and they were all day busy knowing each other better and god felt bad because they were not paying any attention to him and since he needs attention he punished them, Adam had to work (like this he would have less time for sex) and Eve would suffer when delivering a baby and as at those times there were no condoms then god would get eve to refuse to have sexual intercourse just in case...
So may that be a good interpretation???

Yeah, I know all you guys are absolutely certain you're right and all. But just imagine for a moment that some other religion ends up being the right one, not yours. You would have wasted so much of your precious time on earth, denied yourself so much freedom and so many experiences, living your life according to a lie. Does that thought ever cross your mind and prompt you to question your blind devotion to something that's totally unprovable?

How come homosexuals are allowed to be offended by what us hetrosexuals say about them, but we are not allowed to be offended by what they say or do? It all seems so one sided to me! Is this what the bible means when it says, what was once concidered right will become wrong, and what was wrong will become right!

According to Calvinism:

Salvation is accomplished by the almighty power of the Triune God. The Father chose a people, the Son died for them, the Holy Spirit makes Christ's death effective by bringing the elect to faith and repentance, thereby causing them to willingly obey the gospel. The entire process (election, redemption, regeneration) is the work of God and is by grace alone. Thus God, not man, determines who will be the recipients of the gift of salvation.

According to Arminianism:

Salvation is accomplished through the combined efforts of God (who takes the initiative) and man (who must respond) - man's response being the determining factor. God has provided salvation for everyone, but His provision becomes effective only for those who, of their own free will, "choose" to cooperate with Him and accept His offer of grace. At the crucial point, man's will plays a decisive role; thus man, not God, determines who will be recipients of the gift of salvation.

my cousin is a morman and in a year he will be leaving for two years to go door to door and spread the word about their religion or whatever. he wont know where they are placing him until right before he leaves and he's not allowed to tell anyone where he is going. the only contact we will have with him will be through letters that are sent to the same address for everyone in the group thats going. now my question to everyone is this: does this sound like another "jim jones and the people's temple cult" sort of thing? im not knocking the mormon's i just dont understand the reasons behind being so secretive. something just sounds off to me about this. and they call it a "mission" which is even more jim jonesy to me....anyone else see something strange in all this or am i just a little too worried about him?

I always feel bad in the Spring when the little Mormon missionaries start going door to door. I understand that they must get a lot of rejection since many people already have a religion that they belong to. What is the customary tip rate for Mormon missionaries? I usually give them five dollars for a beer or something.

Is She was born without Original Sin, then why did she have to go through the "pains of child birth"?

Because the "pain of child birth" was one of our punishments of Original Sin for Adam and Eve having eaten the forbidden fruit.

But Mary was born without Original Sin so why did she have to suffer?
