I’m sure this isn’t going to come off the way I want it to but heck I will give the question a try anyways.

Why are people so accepting that God either a) created himself, or b) Has just always existed? Why not just accept that the Universe has always existed and that using God as a means of creation is just adding an extra step that isn’t necessary?

Please do not answer with because God made everything etc. What I am asking is what makes you add this extra step to the thought process?

I see ballplayers pointing to the sky after striking out a batter or hitting a home run, and I wonder why God would choose to favor one player over another?
If God rewards the pitcher by allowing him to strikeout the batter, isnt he punishing the batter?

Even though we do not know the day or hour, I believe the tribulaiton is around the corner and the battle of Armageddon will not be too many more years away the way this world is going. And it is all happening very quickly. The intensitly of the Hurricanes, Nuclear weapons, global warming, lawlessness of man, drought, the theat of Russia and China attacking the US, as Russia is now playing a huge part in the world sence again, Iran and their ambitions, chipping in place of cards will be soon available for everyone, The EU and thier 666 project, keep looking up. The temple will be rebuilt next year in Jerusalme, as the Jewish said that they will make sure that it happens this time. Are you getting ready to meet your King? Your redemption draws nigh. Jesus will come back to reclaim this earth, as this earth does not belong to man but God who created it, man has done a shocking job of this world, so Jesus return will be a blessing. This earth belongs to Jesus and he will return very soon

W
We know that Christians believe that he was a sinless man - fine.
He was a man (a good man). But he obviously had a personality and good habits that would be an example to mankind.

Muslims follow the habits of Muhammed - these habits are known as "sunnats" - habits that were loved by God and were an example to mankind.
a few habits out of hundred/s are as follows :
1. Eating with your right hand.
2. Giving items with your right hand.
3. feeding some poor people in your neighbourhood after your wedding day (Walima)
4. Wearing fragrance.
5. Dental hygiene and good breath - use of a "miswaak" - part of a certain plant that resembles bristles.
6. being friendly and a peoples person.
7. prayer before and after meals.
8. entering your home with your right foot first.
9.Not to blow into any hot drink or food for cooling.
10.running of businesses the "sunnat" way
11.Eating with hands instead of spoons or forks
12. Keeping a beard (men)
13.Not to hoard clothing or wealth

I'm an out-and-out atheist, and my mother and father-in-law are actually fundamentalist Christians. The kind that don't really 'believe' in evolution, the kind that take almost all of the Bible literally, the kind that believe Noah's Ark really happened...

And I just don't know what to do. I see them every day, and they're always saying things like "Pray for this," or "It's all in god's plan," etc.

They think, for whatever reason, that I'm a Christian too. My wife is an agnostic, and that would be a huge disappointment to them as well.

I really think they'd be sickened to hear that their daughter and his husband dropped their Christian roots...

WHAT DO I DO?!

Thanks for the help.

Don't you think it's unreasonable to have more than you can afford? Come on! Gas is $3 a gallon. Everything is expensive! No, they are not on welfare and he has a good job while she stays home.

Once Shiri Krishna described Kansa as his bhakt and named his bhakti as virudha bhakati. What is your idea?

I have to write an essay about the Importance of Christianity.
I was thinking to write about the Church's contribution to education in society (did they open schools for kids to teach them to read/write, or was this only a "lux" for those who chosed to become priests?), their influence in politics (if they decided whatever in internal-external affairs in a country), social helps (did they open hospitals? help poor families? or did they help people in any way to improve their life?) etc.
I'm sure that since the Church has been proclaimed official in 313 in Rome they've influenced in many ways the society.

So I would like to ask you if you know some good links to sites that contain useful information to answer the questions above.
Thanks. I'll be searching meanwhile....

When people answered the question in the following link, they often implied that 18 was when you become an “adult”.
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070607050455AACd1nV&r=w&pa=FZptHWf.BGRX3OFMiTVXUUryjDfp16yBWctBAobFxSD25pWee1LN7wOrruqLAYPRc5W_OaN.p9uYRM.XNg--&paid=answered#Q5csUmG.UGSaZaUqRPeK6wWu9_IBVcHLHVRB3Bbufl.iYz0yUtAi

Studies show that your brain changes a great deal from the age of 18 to the age of 21 (more than it will your entire life afterwards), but…

18 is the age of consent in most states in the USA (and the age at which you can join the army), but why do you believe that you somehow reach adulthood when you are 18? What happens to you that didn’t happen when you were 17? Are you ready to get married and start popping out kids at 18?

Yes you are!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is only one God. There are no monkeys except for the ones that God put on earth a couple of years ago. There is no excuse for you not following the word of Jesus Christ, other than these hippies trying to lead you down the wrong path.

There are no need for animals, so why are you so worried about stuff like that. IF it happens, it happens.

Follow the word. If my grandson doesn't want to be godly, that will end up being his problem. I wouldn't be surprised if he brings home another guy soon. They will be special friends, the only kind of friends you should have with a girl,a special girl who understands God and keeping the house and herself in good shape. No tattoos. No bad dances that send bad messages.

I mean, how does that work? When you become 900 your body obviously ages really slowly.

Was his body fully grown at the age of 18? Or at the age of 100?

It would differ according to where you are of course, but in my time zone (Eastern Daylight Time) I think there are more Atheists on from say midnight to 3 am. More Christians on of a morning (7 to 9). Many Hindus and Muslims from say 4am to 6am. A whole variety in early evenings.

Have you noticed trends at different times of the day?

To say it another way, Can the Bible be trusted? Is it reliable? Is it God's Word? If it's God's Word, should church leaders alter or replace it with their words?

The Bible is sufficient. It gives a full view of the way of salvation.
The Bible is complete in its message on how to live.
The Bible is the inspired Word of God.
Since it is inspired it should be accepted as it is, without change.

There are many who respect the Bible, yet do not follow it as the Final Authority.

Am a Christian and I believed that the Bible is the Final Authority from God.

To my Co-Followers in Christ what is your opinion?
