The US government is run by moronic fundies who spend a ton of it overseas instead of repairing New Orleans, in a war whose real purpose is obviously based on crude oil, not "freedom" for Iraq.
The money they spend has the words "In God We Trust" printed on it, churches are exempt from taxation, and every week a plate is passed through the congregation asking for more. It is not used for cancer research, environmental cleanup, or assisting the homeless; it is used to build more churches and keep the pastor in a new Cadillac every year.
Money isn't MY god, but it's pretty obvious who DOES worship it.

No,a god is a supernatural being that one worships. Money is a means to transfer wealth,to buy things like food,clothing,shelter. Because one chooses to have food,shelter,clothing does not mean a person worships money as a god. It means I like to eat,like a place to live.Don't you?Do you spend money?sure you do,whether you earned it or someone gave it to you,the computer you are on costs money. The food you eat costs money. The electric powering computers costs money. Therefore,money is no more my god than it is yours,we both use it. I just tend to think those that ask these questions are financially supported,and take money for granted. If money isn't YOUR god,then when you go to the checkout at Kroger,tell the cashier"consider the sparrows..."Sorry,you use money same as I do

I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through him who gives me strength.
People make gods / idols out of all kinds of things: money, sex, material things, sports teams, entertainers, etc. They just don't like to admit that's what they are doing....

No the money we have now has no intrinsic value and so is worthless if we all stop believing in it. I have no god because gods do not make sense.

actually no....I have actually given away everything I own twice....and started over......the first time was not by choice...the second because others needed what I had and I had learned from the first go around that I could start over....
