all life is magic actually. Many people think in concrete terms about what life is. Science, empricism, laws of physics. These are all true, but within their domain. People create their realities by how they define themselves and the thoughts that they accept as true. If you want your reality to change, try questioning all of your assumptions about life. In truth, on levels of reality that most are not aware of, we are one in a interconnected fabric of consciousness and our energies all intermingle. If you fill yourself with anger, that transmits on the energy plane and affects those around you. This is what is meant by black magic and usually people are unaware that this happens, they have no awareness of energy fields. Someone who practices black magic has an awareness, but is filled with hate and confusion and deliberately harms others with their energies. Kind of deliberate, they believe they have a choice but they're consumed by their own bad feelings and if they weren't ignorant, they would choose to not do that, to be positive and loving. The best defense for people who are negative or hateful is a strong offense of awareness and love.

I would not worry about black magic. In the world of magic, there really is no "black" or "white" magic. All magic is purely based on the intention behind it, the amount of energy put into the spell or what have you, and the will of the person who cast it. I supremely doubt that anyone you know could possibly have the capabilities of doing much more than scaring you into thinking that any moment something is going to jump out and get you. If you really feel that uncomfortable, find a white candle, charge it with positive energy. Visualize being protected from any harm due to "black" magic. Light it and let it burn completely.

The first answer is right. The best way to overcome "black-magic" is not to give it any power over you by worrying about it. If you think "I have to do x to ward off the black magic," then you have given it power over you.
So, if you see someone trying to do black magic on you, laugh at it. Ridicule it. Remember that it does not have an effect unless you let it.
Then live in Peace and hand over your concerns to God. Because another way one can give power to "black-magic" is that one be worried about not paying attention to it.

No, black magic in itself has no effect. However, if people believe in it, they may subconsciously cause problems in their lives. In some cultures, people are secretly and slowly poisoned and told it is "voudoun" or "voodoo" doing it, but the truth is, it's poison.
The more you think and worry about it, the more likely the occurrence of bad things in your life. Stop.

All "magic" is just mind games. The best way to get rid of it is to ignore it. Treat it as the superstitious nonsense that it is.
