You have sin because Adam and Eve ate the fruit - God had no choice. You go to hell because you choose to - God had no choice.

Can't God change the rules? Why doesn't he?

Lately I have been wondering if the bible was a fictional story that has evolved over time, through poor interpretation and the hands of the wrong people into the way we know it today. I think maybe it was written by many people, hence the books of the bible, and put together for 1 long fairy tale. What if the bible was the Harry Potter of it's time? Just a thought. Any one else feel this is possable?

As an atheist, you will VERY seldom hear me making a prayer request, but today my sister, a good Christian like many of you, had to euthanize her cat. So how about an appropriate little prayer for Rudy the feline to send her off to kitty heaven? In return, I promise to try to be more tolerant of your views on religion, okay?

In my nkjv study bible the study notes says for Gen 3:8 that "here comes God for an evening walk & a cozy chat......."
The scripture reads: "& they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day..." Some say God is only aspirit when it shows here he is walking & talking so this is flesh correct?,it ls like someone walking behind you & you get startled & go hide, that is what Adam&Eve did for they thought he was upset for them disobeying him. to me it looks like he was in the flesh since they weren't mortals yet.
Any extra help would be nice.

Why are there so many militant Christians out there?

Do Baptists really think they are going to reach people with such things?

Granted this Baptist churches rhetoric is a bit extreme...but, isn't Fred Phelps saying what many of you fundamentalists think? He is just using direct inflammatory words to say it.

-Do you not realize how many people you turn away with such rhetoric?

Your thoughts?

Some of the traits are loud and inappropriate non-stop speech, stealing, literally running from one dangerous activity to another, getting into fights, complete self absorption. I am thinking this is something that is a spiritual problem with adults that is passed down and manifested physically in our children. What do you think?

What knowledge can priests pass to engaged couples if they are celibate?

We thought this was confusing, but went ahead anyways and got married in the Catholic Church.

Later, years later after much disillusionment, we found Christ and found out what we were suppose to be taught:

Gen 2:18
Gen 2:24
Pro 10:12
Pro 18:22
1 Cor 7:2-4
Eph 5:21-33
Heb 13:4
Ecc 9:9
1 Tim 4:1-5

Our current Pastor has preached and been married for over 30 years. His marriage retreats are taught by pastors and pastor's wives. This makes more sense, doesn't it?

this is not intended solely to piss Christians off, although it undoubtedly will, it's also intended to be a serious question.

3 questions below -
-Rant? It is true, plenty of folks here do rant. So what if an atheist said this or that? Relax, take a deep breath and answer as if your mom was standing next to you.

-Call people names? I exchanged e-mail notes with a fella yesterday, who was very upset with our Christian God. Plenty of folks read his angry questions, and responded in varying degrees of simpathy to outright disdain. I can say if I had been through what I found out he has, I'd be an angry man too. How about some examples of unconditional love from you fellow believers out there? Do you think because someone shakes their fist at God, God hates them? I don't. God loves them. We need to show it too.

-Report atheists for valid questions? What gives? Let people speak their mind? If you're insulted, go to another question.

We are suppose to be the light of the world, not the police force. Speak the good word.

God bless.

Does it matter if he is muslim or christian,or hebrew or budhist ,or even pagan.
Won't god hear them all ?
Won't god judge them all for all good or evil that they wish for ?
And also punish or reward them accordingly ?

This is a tactic that has become popular within Evangelical Christianity and is particularly aimed at teens and first year college students.

The Christian purposely “befriends/targets” a “non-believer” and introduces him/her to other Christian friends. They pal around for a while and discourage the target from forming other friendships. After a few months the target is pressured to convert. If the person converts he/she becomes one of the pack. If they choose not to convert it is not uncommon for the “target” to be dumped and left on their own. This can be particularly devastating to first year college students who can be midway through their first year and suddenly find themselves with no friends.

If you doubt the existence of relational evangelism Google it and see for yourself. I know a fellow whose son got messed up in this stuff. He ended up totally friendless in the middle of his sophomore year of college.

Its God who gave humans worth,
Why do many people, especially athiests think that intelligence equels worth.

Just because somebody is intelligent why do athiests think they are more worthwhile?

The christian view is that a poor honest man has as much worth as a rich smart man,do athiests find this offensive?
