The Biblical god was conceived as a male+female deity (the Assyrians had one as well, so did the Egyptians in their god of the Nile) and in some of the old texts is referred to as "elohim" which is a plural form, since there was no word to express the concept.
That's also why the Jewish/Christian/Muslim god became a "he", and the consequence of that was that "his" female half got forgotten about, except by a few scholars.

God is never portrayed as having a significant other.

God is portrayed as male and created Man in his own image. Then, he decided to give him companionship. Man was created after God, Woman was created to keep Man company. Not that I'm religious or believe it, but that means Woman was made in the image of Man. Or something like that.

Because Joe Hovah was originally invented as a sort of counter to an existing cult with a female deity. It's also why there's a serpent persuading Adam and Eve to eat from the Tree of Knowledge -- the competing cult used the serpent as a holy symbol, and the story of Genesis was a deliberate smear campaign against it.

How's it feel to be a woman
How's it feel to be a man
Are we really that different
Tell me where you stand
I look at you, you look away
Why do you say we're night and day
I'd like to try another way
Oh baby for just one day

If you were a woman and I was a man
Would it be so hard to understand
That a heart's a heart and we do what we can
If you were a woman and I was a man
If you were a woman and I was a man

God doesn't need a wife, for he is perfect.
I then wonder why he had the desire to create the universe.
Being perfect means you have no desires.
He either created because he just did, which could be the same explanation to a Godless universe, or he doesn't exist.

Well, the Bible says there are "sons of God" so I assume there is a Mrs. God.

Case closed.

We were made in his image but we were made in a LESSER version of him we have weaknesess while he is above that. People see God as as the enbodyment of perfection.

Of course He does. The family structure with men and women together didn't just happen by accident. :-)
