A good example was set by Jesus...you can find it starting at Matthew 6:9...(i suggest reading all of Matthew ch.6 when you get a chance)...But you must always approach God with a humble attitude...it is a privilege to speak to the Most High...and use His name, Jehovah(Psalm 83:18)

You can start like...."Wonderful heavenly Father, i approach you this time...." or "Oh Jehovah, Wonderful Grand Creator in heaven...i ask that i be able to approach your heavenly throne at this time..."

Try something along those lines and from there on just pour out your heart...be honest, be true, remember God knows our inner most thoughts and concerns even before we express them to Him....but when you pray and continue to ask for the same thing...you supplicate...it shows Him how much you want and need what you are praying for.

When ending make sure you say something like..."this is through your reigning king in heaven, Jesus Christ...Amen"

Why are you praying to a God that already knows everything?

Why does it matter how you start the prayer? Do you think if you use the correct incantation it is more likely to be granted?

Come on, THINK about what you are doing here.

it quite works, besides the fact that it relies upon on what it is you're praying for, or no count if it is in you suited pursuits. additionally, it is going to possibly no longer come once you desire it, yet at a different time. (If it some thing you will get your self via working for it, or paying for it, then why pray. basically get it.

I was always taught to give thanks for all the good that has come your way during the day first then ask for what you need although God already knows.

Pray from your heart, not by guidelines, though.
