What knowledge can priests pass to engaged couples if they are celibate?

We thought this was confusing, but went ahead anyways and got married in the Catholic Church.

Later, years later after much disillusionment, we found Christ and found out what we were suppose to be taught:

Gen 2:18
Gen 2:24
Pro 10:12
Pro 18:22
1 Cor 7:2-4
Eph 5:21-33
Heb 13:4
Ecc 9:9
1 Tim 4:1-5

Our current Pastor has preached and been married for over 30 years. His marriage retreats are taught by pastors and pastor's wives. This makes more sense, doesn't it?

Good choice, listen to your current Pastor. You referenced some good verses there. Blessings...

Read 1 Corinthians 7:7-9. Paul was celibate, yet he gives advice about conduct within marriage in various parts of his writings. If you believe that a celibate man cannot give valid advice about how a marriage should be structured, then that would mean you don't believe Paul's advice is valid, which would mean you are not a Christian, but rather an apostate and a heretic. So, do you now accept the possibility of celibate persons (such as presbyters in the church) giving valid advice in marriage?

What good can a gynecologist do for women if he is a man? What good can a suicide counselor do if he hasn't committed suicide? What does a psychiatrist have to offer a mentally ill patient if he isn't mentally ill? Ohhh ... you say that such professionals are highly TRAINED to offer such advice and guidance, and know the actual FACTS, apart from the popular myths. Good - so now you know how a priest can provide pre-marital counseling and instruction. One might also wonder why God inspired Paul, an unmarried minister of the gospel, to provide most of the biblical teaching on marriage. One might also ask how qualified Protestant pastors are to offer marital advice since they have one of the highest rates of divorce, rated by profession.

If they are both teaching from the same book, the message is the same no matter if they are married or not.
