Why didn't he choose to allow us to go to a less painful place instead.

Nobody is answering the question. If God doesn't allow you to go to Hell, then you don't go to Hell.

It's not whether we get punished, it's why the punishment is so harsh.

God is a righteous judge, a God who expresses his wrath every day. The LORD will not leave the guilty unpunished. All have sinned against God and are guilty of death.

God loved you so much, He provided a way out. If you do not accept the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross as payment for your sins, believe and repent, then you have made the hell choice. I choose Jesus, He is the sensible choice.

No one can say they are good. No one has kept even one of the Ten Commandments. If you understood this, you would see your need for the Savior.

God does allow you to make the choice to reject Him.

In your add ons you asked why this punishment is so harsh well the devil which is over hell used to be one of God's angels. there was like a deal made that all nonbelievers and sinners would go to hell. Its so harsh bc its an incentive to do the right things in life according to that faith and makes you want to go to Heaven rather than spend an eternity burning in hell.

He chose to allow you because He gave us free will and even He will not interfere with that. It would not be free will if He did, would it? He spends your whole life waiting for you to look to Him, how heartbreaking that must be for Him. Rev. 3:20 says He stands at the door knocking waiting to come in and be friends. What other God or religion offers that. They all say you are on your own nobodies going to be there to help you make it. But God says He waits for you to let Him come in and help you. He doesn't say you have to be "together" first He wants you just the way you are. He made you the way you are and He loves you the way you are, He will make you they way He intended you to be, if you will let Him. He doesn't force it but through out your life you will get circumstances and opportunities to let Him in. Would you rather have someone you loved come to you of their own free will or because you forced them to?

The punishment is harsh because to not be with God is to be absent from Him. It's like being " a little bit pregnant" it's not possible, either you are or you aren't. With God or without Him there is not a little bit. Absent from God is absent from all good. that is hell. God placed in all of us a place within ourselves that knows there is a creator and a longing to be united with Him. It's why it is the biggest question and quest of our lives.

Hell is the ultimate monument to the dignity of man. If God didn't allow us to choose eternity in separation from Him, we really wouldn't have a valid choice now, would we? By acknowledging our choice and allowing us to make that choice, when He removes all of His influence from us and leaves our souls with the depravity and evil we prefer, He will be shown to be purely just.

Christianity is based on upholding God's Sovereignty. God's sovereignty was brought under question through Adam and Eve when Satan challenged that God was a liar and that man was able to decide for himself what was best for him.

Christians believe that we need God in our lives to give us wisdom, direction, love and power to face life's challenges.

When Christians disregard God's commands without remorse he decides to serve Satan. You can only serve one God - be it Satan or God. Hence, you have the choice to do right or wrong, everlasting life or hell.

God allows us free will. We are not programmed to do right, we have a choice. With all that he does and provides, the choice should be easy - follow His commands and have everlasting life.

God does not choose to allow to send anyone to Hell. He just honors the choices you make.

No. God does not allow us to go to hell, we will go to hell if our lifing so far from God. But we will dificult to understand when we are closed or when we are so far. To understand it, we must study from beginer ; What is called God ? Who is God ? How can we know God, with the real way (the way that we can understand) ? Why must we believe God ? Can we don't believe God ? and the end, we are bilieve or not, GOD IS REAL !!! And there are lifing after dead. Send me a letter, we will discus it more.

The Scripture says, "What communion (relationship) hath light (God) with darkness(sin)? What concord (agreement) hath Christ with Belial (false doctrine)?" We make the choice because God has NO PART of those who outrighly refuse Him and His gift. He "allows" us to go there because that is what He ordained as an eternal separation between Him and sin.

If God wanted a bunch of worshiping Robots, He wouldn't have given us that choice. The whole point of everything was for Him to express Himself to us, in coming and dying in our place to make it possible for us to be with Him forever. For this to be genuine, He had to give us that choice. Everyone on earth, past, present, and future, is given that choice (either accept God's way, or try to make our own way - either accept that He "did it" for us, or try to be good enough ourselves). That choice has been made clear to everyone who honestly seeks truth.
