In context, Philippians 2:6 is an excellent Scripture to refute the trinity. Here are others:
(Colossians 1:15) the firstborn of all creation
(Mark 10:18) Jesus said to him: 'Why do you call me good? Nobody is good, except one, God.
(Revelation 3:14) the Amen says, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation by God
(Philippians 2:5-6) Christ Jesus, who, although he was existing in God's form, gave no consideration to a seizure, namely, that he should be equal to God
(John 8:42) Neither have I come of my own initiative at all, but that One sent me forth
(John 12:49) I have not spoken out of my own impulse, but the Father himself who sent me has given me a commandment as to what to tell and what to speak
(John 14:28) I am going my way to the Father, because the Father is greater than I am
(1 Corinthians 15:28) But when all things will have been subjected to him, then the Son himself will also subject himself to the One who subjected all things to him
(Matthew 20:23) this sitting down at my right hand and at my left is not mine to give, but it belongs to those for whom it has been prepared by my Father
(1 Corinthians 11:3) I want you to know that the head of every man is the Christ; ...in turn the head of the Christ is God
(John 20:17) I am ascending to my Father and your Father and to my God and your God.
(Deuteronomy 6:4) Jehovah our God is one Jehovah
(1 Corinthians 8:4-6) There is no God but one. For even though there are those who are called "gods," whether in heaven or on earth, just as there are many "gods" and many "lords," there is actually to us one God the Father, out of whom all things are, and we for him
Thanks again for an opportunity to share what the bible actually says about the distinct persons of Jesus Christ the Son and Jehovah God the Father!

After years of those varieties of discussions - I ought to declare no. No single scripture or team of scriptures serves as a sound foundation for the Trinity doctrine - in any of its iterations. And no argument provided by technique of people who have faith interior the trinity overcomes the scriptures that prepare Jehovah, Jesus and the Holy Spirit to be separate, and unequal. At suited, the Scriptures could nicely be clipped and trimmed to intend that Jesus and Jehovah are equivalent, yet no quantity of bending and folding can accommodate the Holy Spirit in that affiliation. The Trinity isn't a scriptural doctrine. (a rapid be conscious on the liquid water, ice, and steam representation. that's a great representation that of course explains the Trinity. however the trinity isn't scriptural. No quantity of illustrating, explaining and reasoning could make it scriptural. that's a shame that people who use that representation are distracted from the certainty that the Trinity isn't a Biblical coaching.) EDIT: ultimate - it may help human beings understand the trinity - yet would not make the Trinity comprehensible. Like each and every thing else in contact in fake doctrine, even the illustrations confuse and imprecise. And in case you be conscious - the "water" representation compares a created element to the author.

Why do Catholics believe in Mary worship or purgatory or the pope or the Apocrypha? Why do Mormons condone polygomy? Why don't Baptists accept the person of the Holy Spirit? Why do Episcopalians condone homosexuality?
We focus on what is wrong with the body of Christ and in so doing we drive a wedge between each other and then nobody wins because the body isn't being strengthened and the lost aren't coming to know Jesus. How could we expect anything other than that to happen when we are so focused on pointing out each other's faults that we don't do the very thing that Jesus told us to do..."Love God and love our neighbor." (Luke 10:27)
Let's start by acknowleging our own faults and ask the Lord to do a work in our lives so that we would be able to live accordingly, bearing fruits worthy of repentance (Mt. 3:8) and living lives that would turn the hearts of many back to a loving God.

According to
Jason BeDuhn
Associate Professor of Religious Studies, and Chair
Department of Humanities, Arts, and Religion
Northern Arizona University
The Greek word translated 'grasphed' by many bibles
literally means to 'rob, to rape or to plunder'.
So Paul is saying that Jesus did not try to rob, rape or plunder equality from God.
This is an example of where trinitarians have water down God's word to say something that it doesn't.
While critical of some of its translation choices, BeDuhn called the New World Translation a “remarkably good” translation, “better by far” and “consistently better” than some of the others considered. Overall, concluded BeDuhn, the New World Translation “is one of the most accurate English translations of the New Testament currently available” and “the most accurate of the translations compared.”—Truth in Translation: Accuracy and Bias in English Translations of the New Testament.
“Here at last is a comprehensive comparison of nine major translations of the Bible:
King James Version, New American Standard Bible, New International Version, New Revised Standard Version, New American Bible, Amplified Bible, Today's English Version (Good News Bible), Living Bible, and the New World Translation.
The book provides a general introduction to the history and methods of Bible translation, and gives background on each of these versions. Then it compares them on key passages of the New Testament to determine their accuracy and identify their bias. Passages looked at include:
John 1:1; John 8:58; Philippians 2:5-11; Colossians 1:15-20; Titus 2:13; Hebrews 1:8; 2 Peter 1:1

It is true that we should study the whole scripture;old and new testament.
I don't know how that verse prove that God is trinity!if it is? that is only one verse but if you study the scripture deeply you will understand the word trinity doesnt exist as God(Jehovah) and Jesus his son(John 10:36) is not one body.
John17:3-we have to know the only true God and the one who he sent forth Jesus Christ. If the Father and the son is one why do the Bible urge us to know both of them?

I always think it is a good idea to examine the entire text, not just one scripture, in order to understand what is being said.
At the beginning of chapter two, Paul is encouraging the congregation to have the same mental attitude of Christ doing nothing out of contentiousness or out of egotism, but with lowliness of mind considering that the others are superior to themselves, keeping an eye, not in personal interest upon just their own matters, but also in personal interest upon those of the others.
Then Paul points to the high position of Jesus in his prehuman existence in the heavens with his Father and how even though he was existing in God's form (he was a spirit person like his heavenly father) he didn't try to be equal to God, instead he willingly took the form of a human and humbled himself and became obedient to the point of death. After that he was resurrected to heaven and given a name higher than any other creation.
I personally do not think that this proves the trinity.

Because the word 'Trinity' does not appear anywhere in the Bible. Because they believe the Trinity doctrine is pagan. Because they do not understand (I'm being charitable here) the triune nature of the Godhead. Because they do not understand the divinity of Jesus - Immanuel, God with us. Because they do not understand who the Holy Spirit is.
That's why they do not accept that Philippians 2: 6 proves the Trinity.
Just a P.S. to DB who answered earlier - Baptists absolutely accept the person of the Holy Spirit. It's Jehovah's Witnesses who do not.

Jesus a created being (See Col 1:15) existing as a powerful spirit creature did not fall into the same trap as Satan. That is to think that he should be like God.
V.8 became obedient as far as death
V.9 For this very reason also God exalted him to a superior position.
Jesus is not a part of any trinity if he is obedient to himself and exalted himself to a superior position of himself.

Actually the verses found in Philippians chapter 2 prove that the Trinity isn't a biblical teaching.
"Keep this mental attitude in you that was also in Christ Jesus, who, although he was existing in God’s form, gave no consideration to a seizure, namely, that he should be equal to God. No, but he emptied himself and took a slave’s form and came to be in the likeness of men. More than that, when he found himself in fashion as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient as far as death, yes, death on a torture stake. For this very reason also God exalted him to a superior position and kindly gave him the name that is above every [other] name, so that in the name of Jesus every knee should bend of those in heaven and those on earth and those under the ground, and every tongue should openly acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father." -- Philippians 2:5-11
