I sense a ridiculous rant, is about to occur on this keyboard.
First of all...tell me this...why is your Avatar in those colors? I find that combination of colors...annoying. Lighten up....the red is too dark for you....and nobody is wearing green anymore!!! (that is soooo last year).
Second of all...your question is 2 questions in one....this is a confused state of mind.
Who cares if a person is or isn't?? Why must you provoke either/or into a non-issue?
Last of all.....read the first two.

Neither, honestly. I believe in a Power greater than myself, but don't think of it as a "being" or "god". I don't think it loves or hates us, don't think it can know anything, don't think that any faith or path (including my own) can accurately sum it up.
It simply IS. I call it "Mother" at times, "Father" at others, "Spirit of Nature" sometimes, "Force That Pervades All Things" occassionally. I feel that every faith tries to connect people with this Force, but since there are so many people (all with different upbringings and regional situations) no one faith or path could possibly connect all people with it.
I believe these things for no reason that would be considered "good enough" by many people. My "heart" is more than just a blood pump to keep my body alive, it's a place in my chest where emotions live and that place connects me with the Force in a way that I can best understand it. My way of interacting with that Power is not right for everyone. In fact, it's probably not right for anyone but myself. I feel that the Power flows through me and all things, and that is good enough for me.
Be well in all things,
Rave

I can't answer this question, because words such as these do not even come close to the nature of understanding I try to hold onto in my very limited knowingness.
Everytime I try and put a word to it, I get slapped in the spiritual face. So, I will leave you with this grand quote I thought of, that I think covers my understanding...
"Ummmmm... Wow!"

Hm, well, there is an "is" in theist, and an "isn't" in theisn't ...theisn't seems more like "God Isn't", while Athiest is more like "without a God", which doesn't specifically deny the existence of a God, but only describes one who doesn't believe in it. Besides, we can't go with thei-ain't, cos the english teachers would be all up in arms..... :)

words are funny...good example of how we pay more attention to the words, get caught in the words... than the meanings behind them
i truly believe that atheists are arguing against a certain definition of God, rather than what God really is- Life Being Life
(i'm generalizing here)
we are all caught in the ego, the semantics
we all "believe" in Life
