If I were talking to something, and expected a response, wouldn't that necessitate I already accept it's existence?

Because I believe in God I do not need proof of his existence but in my daily life. But if I was the one asking and did not believe, I would ask for something unique that I would understand. Because having a rock drop from the sky could be a coinsidence. It have to be something that could not happen by chance.
But you know God has proven His existence to all people, yet many do not believe. If a person looks at creation and see it in its full glory especially in the morning as things become awake, one might not wonder about God existence any longer, for He created it all. tall city building and fountains are made by man and can not even begin to touch the beauty of God's creation.

I have enough proof already. There is nothing that God could do to prove His existence to someone who does not believe and doesn't want to. The Most High of all Atheists, Richard Dawkins admitted as much in a debate. He said that if God appeared before him in all of His grandeur and glory and pointed a finger down at him, saying, "Richard Dawkins, I do exist," he would not believe it. He would just assume that he was hallucinating, and if there were other witnesses, he still would not believe. There is enough evidence in the natural world and the life and teachings of Jesus for me to believe, and these facts (not faith or feeling) are there for anyone to explore. C.S. Lewis and Josh McDowell are two brilliant men who set out to empirically disprove Christianity and both became Christians because everything that they learned confirmed it.

I would ask him to give me faith that he existed. No physical manifestation would convince me.
Many years ago I spent a great deal of time actively seeking faith because just about everyone I knew was religious. I mean, I TRIED. I followed all their advice---prayer, reading the Bible, talking with believers, immersing myself in the culture. All I can say is that if there is a god he missed his chance with me. Today I am perfectly comfortable with the conclusion I eventually came to: that it is all so much self-delusion. If people need religion to get themselves through the night, I'm okay with that. It just isn't my particular cup of tea.
Proof of a god---nothing short of being inundated with instant unwavering faith would do.

Ask him to be demolecularized when the experiment with the Large Hadron Collider begins on Nov26 of this year in the alps underground. It would be awe-inspiring if the Higgs boson finally spouts from his a s s.

Why would I ask God to "prove" his existence? He proves it to me every single second of every single day. In the eyes of my children, in the love of my family, in the gift of the wonderful husband I have and by giving me another day on this earth to cherrish his many blessings he has given to me.
