They say "More Mans" because a good deal of Mormons believe a woman should serve a man, that a woman should obey a man. That is in direct opposition with what most women today believe or would cooperate with. Also, some very splinter group, cult-like Mormons, think a man should be able to have multiple wives. That doesn't sit well with society at large.
People call Mormons "morons" because they are aghast that anyone could believe those things, or allow themselves to be treated this way. This may sound mean to you, especially if you were bought up Mormon. But it is a reflection of how the Mormon church has not kept up with society.
Also, while Mormon beliefs are to help each other out when in need, that's NOT what they do when the time comes. I know quite a few people who gave their all when the church wanted them to do something, but when they needed something, the church excommunicated them, or "just couldn't find anyone" to help them. I did not make up these situations. They are real. So many people know someone who has had these experiences that the term "moron" has stuck.

Dear who know why people say the things that they do? It might be because they or not open minded. Plus it doesn't matter what your religion is as long as you believe in yours. It shouldn't matter what someone else think. Now I'm not trying to test anyone religion or anything like that. But don't let what people say get next to you. If that is your choice then so be it. Remember this is a free country and you are can believe in what ever religion that you want to. And hold your head up high. It is nothing to be ashamed of.

Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are called Mormons, after the Book of Mormon which we believe to be another testament of the divinity and mission of Jesus Christ.
Moron is an insult. Morman is a typo.

Using the term Mormans is just someone being incorrect when making reference to Mormons.
Using the term Morons on the other hand, is making fun of Mormons because they obviously think Mormons are stupid instead of ignorant.

Morman is a misspelling
Moron is an insult, the type you would expect to hear in grade school.
But don't let it bother you, don't get offended by 6 year old insults.

"Morons" is an intentional modification to indicate derision towards the belief system of Mormons.
"Mormans" possibly refers to an original practice of Joseph Smith (and may well be still practiced today in some Mormon circles). Originally, polygamy was a widely held practice in those circles.
But, that was one man and many wives... so "mormans" makes no sense in that context.
I hope you don't consider this a "mean" answer...

I'm late at answering this but I many people say this, and I am one of them, because they believe in a man from one century ago who states that the angel Gabriel appeared to him a few times and let him read the scriptures that were written in a mystical language. There were no eye-witnesses and all of what he claimed was false according to original scripture. He became a cult leader and Mormons are cult followers. Thus morons. Their beliefs have no basis. Smith was a false prophet.

Maybe some do not know that Mormonism is a religion and others are trying to be funny. But one should never make fun of a religion even if you do not agree with it. It's quite rude.

Possible reasons:
1) The writers do not know how to spell Mormon and failed to employ the "Check Spelling" feature.
2) They are being rude and bigoted toward a religious sect which they do not understand.
3) They are attempting, feebly, to be amusing.
