I was taught, that you are simply "sleeping".
So it's like going to sleep for a very long time, no dreaming. Just sleeping. So when it's time, you'll not even have a memory of sleeping. You just sort of wake-up.

According to some things in the Bible I've read, we just sleep until the resurrection of the saints. I don't believe in a rapture either. I believe that upon Christ's second (and I believe last) coming, the dead will rise. The living? Still researching that.
I think, and like I said, I'm still researching, that after the second coming, the whole Armageddon thing is going to happen because no one can enter the Kingdom unless they have died. After all of that is done and over with, I believe God creates new heaven, new earth (including new Jerusalem) and Christ reigns there with us. Once again, don't quote me. Take what I said, research, and see if it matches what you think it may be.

It is called Purgatory-----However, litterally speaking, the only way we wll find out where we "end up" when we die----is to DIE.... no one so far has come back to tell us what happens when one dies....people BELIEVE in heaven and hell and BELIEVE in purgatory and people BELIEVE that heaven is a lovely place and I'd really LIKE to believe that as well, but as I get closer and closer to death, I am not sure what to believe and what NOT to believe....I'm one of those people who just figures I'll wait and see when I get there. This may sound a bit wack to some, but I was recently diagnosed with a terminal illness and when that happens, you really DO begin to think a LOT about what there might be after.....for now, I choose to live every day to the fullest and enjoy the time I have left and try not to worry what happens AFTER....but I bet when I start to get sicker, I'll be REALLY wondering....hopefully it will all end in MY FAVOR!!!!

There is no rapture. If the Earth and all of its inhabitants are annihilated its either mans own doing or just the way things go.
After death you float around evaluating your performance on in the material world until you are sent down to try it again. At some point when you have achieved perfection you become part of the spiritual world.
This question was probably meant for christians, but you didnt specify.

John 3:13-17; No man went to Heaven but Jesus who came down.
So where was David 1037 years BCE an to year 33 when Jesus ascended? Where is David now as earthly for the new earth? Isa.45:18; 65:17; 66:1,22,23; Eze.37:12-14;
Acts 2:27 Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. 28 Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance. 29 Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.30 Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne; 31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption. Matt.5:1-13; earthly for new earth.
WHEN SATAN HAS A SHORT TIME IN THE END TIME
1Thes.4:15-17; The heavenly living and the heavenly dead as caught up. John 6:39,40,44; The raised up at the last day.
Rev.3:12; the heavenly for the new heavens coming down out of heaven from God. Mark 13:27; The gathered. Heb.12:22-24; 2Pet.3:13; Rev.21:1-5; All made new as it was perfect before Eden.

I would head to the local Bally's, head straight for the women's shower room, and pull an all-out Porky's. Of course, you know, without the need for a hole in the wall.

You assume too much.
Paul writes "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord."
