In Eph.4:11+, And Jesus gave some apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors & teachers. For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the mnistry, for the edifying the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith & knowledge of the Son of the God unto a perfect man & the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we arent anymore children tossed to & fro & carried about with every wind of doctrine by the sleight of men & cunning craftiness wereby they lie in wait to deceive...

Too often people criticize the Lords evengelists by adding tele... or the office of prophet saying there isn't the office of the prophet anymore.

Why be critical when the 5 fold ministry is to be until the... fulness of the body of Christ?

It is 2007 and our moral and family values have been compromised with todays openness with sex. I am not perfect but I did have parents who instilled constant high morals and family values. I did not even have a boyfriend until I was 18. Maybe I'm a little naive, but I have teenage sons who have friends that are girls and are between the ages of 14-16, and their parents don't mind if they spend the night at my house! However, I don't allow it.

My husband is 48 yrs old. He works for a company. He takes smoke breaks with a 21 yr old woman and her 40+ sister. He says the 21 yr has never been married & never bore children. He says she is "young and innocent." When I asked why thinks that, he says that's his opinion of 21 yr olds - they are "young and innocent. This really bothered me. We began debating about what's considred "young and innocent." I told my husband there are lots of 21 yr olds out there that already have children & had sex with many partners. What's your opinion?

Okay. Lets say you have Adam the Ur-rodent and Eve the Ur-rodent after the "Flood." They have a bunch of baby Ur-rodents, who have a bunch of baby Ur-rodents and so on and so on and so on.

After a while, some of these Ur-rodents go to the Americas and some go to Africa. They lose track of their distant cousins and go on having generation after generation of happy Ur-rodents.

Now, the Ur-rodents in the Americas learn to climb trees and eat acorns and stuff. They like the lush green forests and their claws become longer and sharper so they can climb with more dexterity. Their tails become agile and quick to help them with balance and long claws and agile tails are now attractive features in a mate because they will help the babies survive.

And the Ur-rodents in Africa learn to conserve water and eat grubs and they learn to sleep through the long hot days and to do their running around and foraging at night. Their eyes become big so they can see at night. Like the long...

We put our pets to sleep because they are suffering and in pain, and we can't stand to see them carry on like that. Why should an animal get more compassion than a human who is also suffering and in pain? How can you support this double standard?

And before you jump in and say a dog needs you to make that kind of decision for it, ask yourself this: How do you know the dog really wants to die?

For instance a person plans to commit murder when the right circumstances arise. He dies before the circumstances were favorable to commit the murder, so did he or did he not sin?

After all he never committed the act physically though in his mind he was not only tempted but visualized killing the person and planned to do it if the circumstances are right.

Is this person by definition in God's eyes a murderer? Did he sin?

"An immoral act considered to be a transgression against divine law. "

Only believers can be sinners whilst they and the rest of us can be considered criminals if we do something against the law... or just not very nice if we do some unkind act.

Sin requires belief in a divinity or religious code, so only believers can sin.

that the power of prayer is actualy the power of your mind minipulating the energys of the universe to manifest what you desire? and the fact that you believe gives power to the prayer so that that prayer becomes reality? and if the answer is yes than wouldn't that be magic?

I've noticed the Catholic Church had to dispense with the belief in Limbo, and could not come up with a single authoritative quote from the bible to say your god does not throw babies into the Lake of Fire.

So if the oldest Christian denomination on the planet couldn't find a single verse to say non-christian babies go to heaven, upon what scripture do you believe otherwise?

And upon the information I've presented, wouldn't it be fair to say Christianity believes my dead, five-year-old autistic son will be tossed into the Lake of Fire by your god because there is not -one- verse that says otherwise?

What does this scripture mean to you? How do you go out and make disciples? Do you talk to strangers about your religion/faith? If not, why? If so, where do you talk to them? Jesus told his disciples to go from house to house and find the deserving ones, do you do this?

Let's put it this way...embryonic stem-cells come from left over fertilized eggs. These eggs are sitting in freezers. These eggs will, eventually, just be thrown away after they are no longer wanted.

Anyway, here's the real question. If you were in a burning building and only had time to take one of the following, which would you rescue?

A) The 3 month old child sitting next to you?
B) The "freezer" with 500 fertilized eggs in it?

If the eggs are human, than 500 human lives would be saved. Right? However, the right choice is to rescue the 3 month old infant.

That being said, why can't we use those fertilized eggs to save a three month old child suffering from (you choose the disease) instead of letting them rot in a "freezer?"

Sometimes I feel like the only adults in the world are the Christians. There is a certain grace that we have that is lacking in the atheist world. It feels good knowing I'm saved. I don't care too much about those who may be lost, but I know Jesus does, so that's why I carry forth.

Did you know that you can be with your father in heaven forever. Just say these words :"Jesus, I am lost without you. I don't know anything without you holding me. I am naive and lost in this world. Please take me into your arms and cradle me, giving me the nurturing I need. No more immoral behavior. Just you and me"

Try is sometime. Maybe you'll save your life. :)

Is this where the Gospel writers got the idea for the story?

Vespasian is also said to have cured a leper.

It seems to me that the individual Gospel stories were cobbled together from the Flavian household, especially the stories of Josephus Flavius, Wars of The Jews and Antiquities of the Jews.

In one story from Josephus, three men are crucified. Josephus pleads with Titus to spare them. Titus allows it and Josephus takes the three down from the crucifixes. One of them survives, one of only two people known to have survived crucifixion, and I'm not including the fictional Jesus.

The story appears to be the inspiration for the Joseph of Arimathea sequence in the Gospels.

Thoughts?

My husband was getting into going to Church recently and getting into it. Since we had a argument last night i called the pastor's wife (she is also a pastor too) and told her that i would like to set up a time to talk with her, cause i needed some help. He came in and told me that he wasn't going to go to church anymore because of that. (His mom, brother, sister goes there too) he said he didn't want everyone to be in his business. But the pastor won't say anything to anyone! He was calling me childish and immiture and he took my cell phone and hid it. He told me he was going to shut if off, because when we argue i called people and told them our problems (this is not true) this is the only time i have called anyone because of our arguments. I used to call my brother's wife when we were arguing for some advise, but that was a lone time ago. It's like he is bringing up the past........

Just curious, I am not religious by the way.
I just have been reading a lot of the Q's and A's from everyone.

How old are you?
Were you raised atheist, or in what faith were you raised?
If raised in a church, did you ever believe?
If yes, at what age did you decide there was no higher power?

Thanks

Why, atheists, are you more tolerant to Muslim, Buddhists, and any other religion. It seems to me that people feel that it's okay to criticize Christianity, but don't criticize other religions because they are more tolerant or accepting to them. I wish people would recognize that it's just as offensive when I hear people try to tear apart my religion, especially since 99% of the time their critisim is based on IGNORANCE.
